carolyn is a valued san franciscoan and she is an important member of our community. i am a 22-year resident of san francisco, i've been a home owner in the mission district and a member of the liberty hill neighborhood association and i know that carolyn powell is extremely invested in seeing not only her neighborhood flourish but this city flourish. carolly, one shining example of this is her support of the women's initiative for self-employment, of which i am a board member, she and i served together on the women's initiative. she has been a supporter of buding women entrepreneurs, this program that helps low income women start their own businesses and rise, get themselves out of poverty and achieve economic independence. carolyn has played a critical role not only in providing mentorship and her business expertise but also providing financial contributions to that organization and has been a leader in that organization. she also has been actively involved in other organizations, the horizons foub daition, a local chapter of the aha, quality california, lambda lega

carolyn. >> thank you, lisa. police are investigating a homicide. they responded to the report of a stabbing on sun crest avenue around 1:30 this morning. they found a man with a stab wound. he was taken to the hospital and pronounced dead. he has not yet been identified and no word yet on suspects or arrests. >>> developing news out of san jose state university where two sexual assaults occurred on campus within hours of each other. one happened before 7:00 last night and the other at 9:20. university of police say the same man came up behind the victims touching them inappropriately. he's described as a white man between 20 and 30 years old with a mustache wearing a black hoodie and pants. he left the scene of both incidents riding on a bicycle. both victims who are students were not harmed. >> police say a man was found around 7:30 last night around los angeles valley college and had been shot. he has not yet been identified. they aren't sure if he was shot in the truck or another location. there was were no classes or school activities going on

i'm carolyn johnson. >> i'm dan ashley.for a serial arsonist in the south bay. they arrested a suspect accused of setting a dozen fires in the past week. >> ama dates is live in san jose with breaking details. ama? >> dan and carolyn, that person is suspected of setting 13 fires. you can see some of the damage in the video we shot. homes, condos and a portable building behind a church that was set on fire last week. it was a rash of arsons and as you said tonight, the san jose police department has confirmed that the department's covert response unit arrested a man shortly after 8:00 in connection with the arsons. a suspect will be book eld into the santa clara county jail. the search intensified over the weekend. abc7 news obtained this surveillance video of a man walking in the neighborhood where a fire was set. and then the fire department released the sketch. right now they are not releasing the suspect's name or the circumstances surrounding the arrest tonight. right now they are still doing investigations and followin

i'm carolyn johnson. >> i'm ama dates. dan ashley is off tonight. the kidnapping happened on humming bird drive in antioch. that's where abc7 news president arer lilian kim is tonight. she has new details. lilian? >> all of this unfolded right in front of natalie's home here on humming bird drive. antioch police say she was getting out of the car when an armed man grabbed her. natalie kalvo is three feet tall and weighs 54 pounds. she was wearing a pink sweater, pink scarf and pink leggings. her abductor followed them by home -- them home by car from the wal-mart. as soon as natalie got out of the car the man grabbed her and forced her into his car. he sped off toward the boulevard. antioch police say the abductor is unknown to the mother. she tried to fight back, but the man responsible for kidnapping natalie was armed. >> there was a weapon used and the mother attempted to stop the male from abducting her daughter. when she approached him, the male produced what has been described as a rifle and the mom stopped and was able to force the child into
