carolyn johnson has the night off. the fog tonight and the fierce wind. later tomorrow, a strong system is moving our way. sandhya patel is tracking it for you. first, let's talk about the fog tonight. >> yes, dan. if you step outside some parts of the area it is like pea soup. a dense fog advisory has been issued until 7:00 a.m. wednesday. this includes the bay shoreline, the santa clara valley including san jose. the san jose airport is reporting visibility less than a quarter of a mile. they are down to an 8th of a mile. look out for the dense fog. the wind will pick up tomorrow and so a high wind warning goes into affect at 6:00 tomorrow morning and continues until 6:00 p.m. thursday. this covers the higher terrain and gusts to 70 miles an hour are possible over the ridges and peaks. that means the downed trees and the power lines. lower elevations are under a wind advisory with gusts to 45 miles an hour. dan, i will be back to tell you when the strongest winds will hit when i come back with my detailed accu-weather forecast. >> thank you. pg&e is gea

. >> i'm carolyn johnson. we will have that story in a moment. we begin with the return of occupy demonstrators. >> alan wang is live on the cal campus with the latest there. alan? >> reporter: dan and carolyn, take a look. 12 tents have already sprouted up here on the steps of the plaza. it is a party atmosphere here tonight. a huge contrast from last week when students and police clashed over the occupy cal encampment. despite the university's insistence that chants and camping will not be allowed here, the students voted to set up any anyway and campus police have done nothing. they were siting on the roof of the golden bear center as more than 5,000 people packed into the plaza to hear former secretary of labor and uc berkeley professor address the crowd. he pointed out the richest 400 people in america own more than the bottom 150 million americans. >> over the last three decades, this economy has doubled in size, but most americans have not seen much gain. if you adjust inflation, what you can see is the median wage has barely risen. where d

i'm carolyn johnson. >> and i'm dan ashley. quite a scare in marin county. >> crews quickly put out the flames at the main house at skywalker ranch. we go live to alan now. alan? >> carolyn, we are not far from the main gate of the skywalker ranch where several marin county fire stations responded about 5:30 this evening. firefighters say there was a small fire that is under control, but there is heavy smoke throughout this 50,000 square foot main office building. this is where "star wars" creator george lucas has a private office and viewing room, but it is also where he and other employees work on film projects and do a lot of creative research. firefighters say they are concerned about the layers of subfloors that has miles of wiring throughout this three-story high-tech building. but they believe they have the cause isolated in or near one of the fireplaces. right now they are bringing in fans to vent the smoke out of this victorian-style mansion. it is decorated with a lot of expensive art, oriental rugs and impressive wood

i'm carolyn johnson. a wildfire is burning out of control. >> evacuations are underway near silverado trail and soda canyon where the fire is growing. alan wang is there with the latest. alan? >> we are about half a mile away from the fire. definitely smoke blowing through the command center where we are. we are at silverado trail and soda canyon road. that's about two miles northeast of downtown napa. cal fire tells us 15 to 20 acres have burned. about two dozen homes are in this area and several residents have evacuated to this point. it started around 8:45, but the 25 mile per hour winds are definitely making it difficult to fight tonight. the flames are sweeping through neighborhoods. no homes are lost so far, but cal fire says at least two out buildings have burned. i would like to bring in a resident right now. how have you experienced the fire? >> it was the first fire on the hills. it is definitely a scary thing. my dad is up there with my husband and trying to keep it safe. >> how did you first e

i'm carolyn johnson. >> i'm dan ashley. a diesel spiel on a school bus sends a dozen kids to the hospital. >> the students from woodside hospital were heading home from a field trip when the trouble began. the bus pulled off interstate 680 in pleasant hill and that's where thomas roman is for us. >> 36 high school kids are on their way back to the peninsula. their bus left an hour ago, but left various area hospitals are 11 students who were exposed to diesel fuel that flooded the floor of the bus. the school bus with 38, 11th grade woodside peninsula high school students was traveling along 680 when the diesel fuel started flooding the floor of the bus. the bus turned off here at contra costa boulevard near the pleasant hill shopping center. the driver called police as students were evacuated from the bus. >> the driver realized there was a fuel spill going on in the school bus. the driver took the ices zit and pulled off on -- took the exit and pulled off at contra costa boulevard. they were sent to local hospitals for th
