. >>> carolyn tyler, abc 7 news. >> and a storm is arriving tonight in the bay area. you can see this is a live look from our camera. it's been a cool, grey, kind of dreary day. abc 7 and people had their hoods up and their umbrellas out. spencer chris yanl, here now for the first look at the 5:00 ewe wealther forecast. >> all right, larry. in the morning and afternoon in the even tomorrow. this is an interesting storm. a few areas of sprinkles. here's a look at the main storm that's approaching us. it's well to the northwest at the moment. moving rather rapidly from the gulf of alaska. we'll give you a look at what we can expect from this storm. it's going to rank number two in our storm impact scale. we'll see up to an inch of rain in some parts of the bay area. winds gusting up to 45 miles per hour at times. mainly in the higher elevation. so let's move on and take a look at other features of this storm. we have a wind advisory that will be in effect from 10:00 tonight to 10:00 tomorrow morning. winds will be gusting 45-50 milings per hour in the higher terrain. an

i'm carolyn tyler. thanks for joining us on this sunday, december 6th. let's start with a quick look at the weather with our meteorologist lisa argen. >> hi, carolyn. good morning. the rain has finally slipped into san francisco over into the east bay. you see the he have haddiest. looks like it was in the north bay and it was about 4:00 this morning. right now as we go in closer to marin county and down through the city, the bay view looking at some very light rain through tibion, 580 richmond and berkeley this morning. a little further north and east you see it's scattered and we will continue to see the fat earn throughout the day. napa, fairfield by the delta and woodland some shower activity. and looking into the sierra nevada, temperatures in the low to mid-50s there. a little rain-snow mix in the higher elevations. so the storm system will continue to fall apart as it pushes to the south but we will have scattered showers, mild temperatures and breezy winds and we will detail it coming up. carolyn. >> lisa, thank you. now to the latest in the san b

in san francisco, carolyn tyler, abc 7 news. >> i wonder what the superbowl weather is going to be like in february. especially as we figure in the el nino effect >>> let's worry about thursday, first. right now, we're looking at lots of sunshine, much more than we had yesterday. a couple degrees milder. but you see high clouds there. here's a few of those hief clouds and some of them are enjoying the west, north west. it's currently 57 degrees in san francisco. 60 in san jose. 60 degrees readings yesterday, morgan hill. 57 at half-moon day. it's currently 59 degrees in santa rosa, 58 in napa, fairfield. now, let's skip ahead to thursday morning and do a little forecast animation of the approaching storm. it will be cloudy early thursday morning and, by midday, we're going to see that stormy weather pushing all across the central -- all across the bay area, i should say, with brief bursts of wind and rain and a midday hours. how long would it last? and what's to follow. i'll give you a closer look in just a few minutes. >> thank you so much, spencer. >> last month, california failed to

>> good morning, everyone, i'm carolyn tyler. thanks for joining us. it's sun, december 13th. let's start with a quick looking at the rainy weather. here's meteorologist lisa argen >> good morning. it's mild, breezy, and we've had mist and drizzle and light rain throughout the overnight hours. here's the main funnel band that is upwards of ukiah right now. so for san mateo, the peninsula, it's been wet and a little breezy along the coast. nothing too intense. we have the heavy rain in santa rosa. cloverdale, highway 1301 getting into the act with heavier showers. the sierra nevada is quiet and we've had rain around blue canyon. but the heaviest snow from 10 to 4. gusty winds along the coast continue toal up. that will be in the morning in the north bay and late morning in the south bay. look at the temperatures, very mild. it will be chilly throughout the day with numbers ranging from just the low 50s. the rain will be exiting the south bay about 1:00. i'll detail the kyle in your neighborhood coming up. carolyn. >> we have tips to be prepared before a storm hits from pg&e. ha

in san francisco, carolyn tyler, abc 7 news. >>> two san francisco plaintiffs went beyond the call of saved an elderly woman trapped in her home. officer mcfall and officer robertson from the richmond station have been checkup regularly on 84-year-old woman who lives alone and has no family in the area. very kind ofs them to make that effort obviously. well, one night last week she did not answer the door. they heard her calling out to them. turns out her bed fraimd frame had cracked causing her to fall through and stuck for more than 12 hours. the woman went to the hospital to recover. >>> well check out the scene ati resort tweeted this picture this afternoon from the east peak lodge. they wrote so much snow. that's right. there is a lot of snow. great to see. we need that desperately not only the skiers but snow pack to alleviate our drought. around here the rain is nice to see. >> it is nice. scattered storms out there right now and then a wide spread sweep i should say. steady showers move through for the midnight hour. >> there was lightning. >> and even hail. pretty active out

>> about good morning, i'm colonel bernard in for carolyn tyler. let's take a quick look at the very chilly weather. here's meteorologist lisa argen. good morning. good morning. we are colder than yesterday and temperatures will continue to drop. we have a very weak weather system on the move to the south and east, spreading some light showers in the afternoon over the north bay. it's going to take pretty much all day to move to the south and east. but we do have showers in the forecast for the entire bay area today. it's a cold system. pretty much moisture-starved and the highlight this morning is the cold temperatures. check it out. fremont 31 degrees. up early 20s from napa, 27 san ramon, 29 livermore and the dewpoints in the mid-20s, meaning temperatures will drop further. sunrise not until about 7:24. this morning anywhere from about 3 to 14 degrees cooler. the winds are very light, they are offshore. the air mass is dry and we will continue to see the cold temperatures right on through 9:00. so 20s and 30s out there. bundle up. delay that mor
