one of them is that the carpeting on the second story is thick pile carpeting. the scenario as proposed by the police department was that max was going at a high rate of speed on his razor scooter and that's how he somehow propelled himself over the bannister. the problem is that anybody who has ridden a scooter would know you can't go at a high rate of speed on thick pile carpeting. the marks on max's body don't support this. number 1, there's a pattern of abrasions on his back, if you hold him upright would be like a number 7. the top of the 7 would correspond to the bannister if he was standing back against it. the center of gravity would be too low to go over. other marks don't match the scenario proposed by the police department. the police department's scenario has max grabbing on to the chandelier as he swings across the room and sliding down the opposite bannister. so why doesn't he have any abrasions on his hands or cuts on his hands? what i see on max is too much injury to be accounted for by an accidental scenario. they can't be explained by this scen

as far as the weather this weekend, if you were watching the red carpet yesterday, people were hot. temperatures were very warm in the desert southwest. we're still in the summer-to-fall transition. many areas in the southern half of the country still haven't gotten a taste of the cool fall air. that's only been up here in the great lakes and the ohio valley in the northeast. an upper level low is spinning in southern portions of idaho and utah. that's bringing cooler temperatures to a few spots. boise only 67 yesterday. the warm air still continues. yesterday it was 94 in l.a. vegas at 96. phoenix yesterday, 103. eventually we'll cool off a little bit in the desert southwest, but nothing noticeably. as far as the rainfall with the upper level low, not a lot of it. we had showers around salt lake city. a little light rain trying to sneak through the high country on the border of nevada and utah. if you're traveling outside of reno, a little shower activity. not a lot out there. most areas will be dry during the day today. temperatures a little cool in the northwest. still very warm
