look now at the commute now getting san francisco if you are driving from the east bay from the carquineze to the macarthur maze. you will see some slow traffic and a lot of it is in berkeley and oakland as you drive to the bay bridge. it's very crowded at the toll plaza because of an earlier stalled truck that's gone from the bridge. if you are trying to get into san francisco, there's been some improvement but it's a lot thicker than it normally is getting onto the span. moving along and taking a look at interstate 880, perhaps you are thinking about going down to the san mateo bridge and doing that instead. well, that wouldn't be a bad idea. it's a little bit slow on some parts. not all that bad. and the san mateo bridge traffic is gonna be moderate. been looking at the bridge and the traffic is not bad. we can show you that traffic here is slow. it's moderate on the bridge. it's a decent alternate today to the bay bridge. 8:03. back to the desk. >> all right. thank you, sal. >>> to new developments in the search for a gunman who killed a promising young musician in oakland. tara moria

that's why the drive time is up to 33 minutes from the carquinez bridge to the maze and they are goingough the metering lights okay. we haven't seen too many issues over at the bay bridge pretty typical stuff for this time of the morning. what's not typical is this commute on 4. we are used to the bottleneck approaching hillcrest in antioch but it's really heavy now out to concord because of a couple of earlier accidents including an overturn another one involving a big rig and then heading southbound 242, slow down to walnut creek approaching the 24 interchange. so this is our other hot spot kind of competing with that highway 4 commute brutal right now between hayward and fremont. there were two separate accidents coming into fremont and it really jammed up the morning commute early both of those out of lanes. if you can hop off at the san mateo bridge, you can probably save yourself a little bit of time even though it is slow in the approach to the san mateo bridge toll plaza. and once you get on the span, it's actually kind of heavy now in the westbound lanes. that is your latest "

looks like slow spots away from the carquinez bridge as you head towards the maze.a 10 minutes for your ride this morning. slow out of berkeley into emeryville. over to the bay bridge right now, metering lights are on. slow-and-go conditions at the maze. we have a cameo from our special correspondent the spider on the right-hand side of the screen. traffic is backed up as you work your way through there. looking at your drive on 880 northbound. we have some pretty good conditions actually here. most of the brake lights along 880 are southbound as you work your way towards hayward. we have reports of an accident near 238 blocking lanes. you can see traffic is slow-and- go on our screen here as a result. so heading towards the san mateo bridge this morning give yourself some extra time. lots of red which indicates speeds under 25 miles per hour through there. once you hit the bridge you will see brake lights as well through that area. san mateo bridge slow-and-go on that westbound side headed out of hayward into foster city. extra five to 10 minutes now on your drive

approach. 580 only slowing off 24 east shore freeway moves really slow coming off the bay bridge and carquinezbridge, a smooth drive for 680 and interstate 80 respectively. i want to move over here, two incidents to report, the first one right there at the 680 highway 4 interchange. the flat tire has cleared to the shoulder, stay to your left toward the connector, someones still there fixing the flat tire and on the right westbound highway 4 at willow pass road, folks moving toward 680 trying to take that corner there and a slower drive as you past that crash also on the shoulder. we have slowing out of antioch and pittsburg and bay point for highway 4 and the tri valley a little build southbound 60 and southbound 880 through hayward and down in toward union city typical pattern and easier drive this thursday, seeing a smooth flow of traffic across the san mateo bridge and dumbarton bridge headed over to the peninsula side. look at the south bay san jose traffic flows nicely, north 101, 87 slower in the downtown after a fender bender tleered from curtner. we'll guff you a look at the peninsula

it's an easy drive over the carquinez and benecia bridges. a little bit of slowing in antioch. folks are moving toward the pittsburgh and bay point and pleasant hill and concord. north bay, no slowing. novato down to the golden gate bridge. not a concern as far as those speeds go or the driver conditions. we'll move down to foster city. show you the map, san mateo bridge and the approach. we'll show you the live shot of that san mateo bridge from foster city and you see a nice easy drive westbound will be your commute direction with the headlights. there's a lot more spacing than we see on a typical monday through thursday. coming off the flat section, easy drive. we'll get back to the maps and show you that there's no problems through the area. we have a little slowing for hayward and crash at a street. it hasn't been an issue. we don't have any real additional slowing. fremont, there's a little slowing there but no surprises in. by the time you get to mission back up towards 60 miles per hour. northbound 101 right here as you pass north of 568 and 880. that's the only spot fo
