. >> pelley: tomorrow, the city >> pelley: tomorrow, the city council in carson, california will voteaw bullying. and ben tracy has been looking into this. >> since i was seven, i was known as the fat ugly girl in the corner that no one liked. >> reporter: 15-year-old jade archer, says that she was bullied so badly by the girls at school, that she tried to kill herself when she was 12. >> a girl came up to me and said, "nobody likes you, go kill yourself." and i felt, at that moment, worthless, stupid, i felt every negative feeling. >> reporter: archer has been watching what has been going on in nearby carson california. the city of 93,000 people wants to be one of the nations first bully free zones. >> we have to draw a line in the sand and say enough is enough and that bullying is no longer accepted in this city. >> reporter: city council member mike bipson is the author of the proposed anti-bullying ordinance. it would fine someone who bullies another person between the ages of five and 25. bibpson says he was bullied as a kid because he stuttered. >> small bullies grow up to be bi

. >>> bullies are no longer welcome in southern california in the city of carson near l.a., one of the first bully free zones in the country. it would cover cases involving victims aged 5 to 25. it defines bullying as making another person feel terrorized, frightened, intimidated, threatened harassed or molested. the carson city council is expected to vote on it later today but it's not clear how the city would enforce such a law. >>> the mayor of one central california city believes the term bullying has become a cliche. porterville mayor cameron hamilton had this to say at a recent city council meeting about a plan to establish safe zones for teens who are bullied after school. >> i'm against bullying but i'm getting tired of it being used for the mantra for the ills of the world when all most people have to do is grow a pair and stick up for themselves. >> it is hard to stand up and grow a pair when you're maybe a 10-year-old little girl. >> hamilton was the only one on the council who voted against further discussion of bullying safe zones. >>> okay. we'll move on now. it's 4:34. >
