let's head out west now to robert gray who is at the target store in carson, california. robert, looks a little quieter behind you. >> reporter: yeah, it is a little bit quiet, ashley, but it's been picking up. we were here in the middle of the night. last night they opened things up at 8 p.m. local time, but folks have been lining up, actually, since wednesday night to yet in, thanksgiving night at 8 p.m. we have talked to several shoppers, one of which came at 4 p.m. yesterday. in fact, we saw her at 5 a.m., so you talk about an intrepid shopper, 13 hours later, fifth visit back to target. this one she came back by herself without her daughter so she could buy her something she wouldn't with know what it was unless, of course, her daughter sees that broadcast. basically, the doorbusters were mostly -- they had new ones at midnight. the truck was here overnight to restock some of the supplies, the xbox one or the playstation 4, you're out of luck. for those guys you have to keep searching for them, there's going to be a limited supply as they're brand new. but what has b

robert gray at a target in carson, california, on just how big the deals are and more. robert? >> reporter: charles, they definitely had the headline deals to try and get people inside the store. limited numbers for many of those. in fact, we should mention no incidents, thankfully no problem at the target in carson. they were orderly. handing out claim check tickets to folks to get big screen tvs outside. the national retail federation saying overall the deals are going to pull a lot of folks in here. in fact, they're estimating the holiday retail sales will be up 4% overall to $602 billion. that's up 3.5% from -- actually up 4% this year, better than last year's 3.5% growth. although many wall street analysts, as you've reported, of course, not quite as bullish as that. nonetheless, we're expecting to see record numbers coming out. walmart reporting record numbers, some 22 million folks. they had ten million transactions in the first four hours last night starting at 6:00 p.m. through 10:00 p.m. eastern time. and target here also going on to talk about online sales doubling w
