here's carter evans. >> reporter: these were the final moments of the three-hour police chase when 30-year-old francis pusok was knocked off a stolen horse. it was caught on camera by k.n.b.c in los angeles. >> suspect being tased. >> reporter: authorities say the taser was ineffective, so deputies immediately started kicking and punching pusock, even though he was lying face- down with his hands behind his back. they struck him at least 50 times for more than two minutes. pusock's booking photo shows some of the injuries to his face. jim terrell is his attorney. >> there was not a need for a hit or a kick. how do they justify kicking anyone when their job is to cuff him. it's over. >> reporter: pusock has a lengthy rap sheet that spans more than a decade. it included convictions for driving on the sidewalk, attempted robbery, animal cruelty and resisting an officer. thursday's pursuit began when deputies attempted to serve a search warrant on a home pusock just happened to be inside. he was not a suspect. but investigators say he fled to avoid a potential parole violation. san bernar
