so we received a call at 10:12 yesterday morning to come assist the carver county sheriff's office in this investigation. our chief medical examiner arrived on the scene at 11:30 yesterday morning local time and was on the scene for several hours. the autopsy this morning began at 9:00 a.m. central daylight time and concluded at 1:00 p.m. and just shortly i received word that his body did leave midwest medical examiner's office and was released to the family. as you know it was a very meticulous exam. it was a complete exam. so several pieces of information that are gathered in that process will be sent to labs for further testing. so that answer is pending. and it will take days and weeks to complete those particular investigations. >> is it possible to say when he died? i know time of death was pronounced at seven minutes past 10:00 but had he been dead overnight in the elevator? do you know when he stopped breathing? >> that information is pending. >> do you know when he was removed from the building, paisley park. >> 10:59. >> that is when he left paisley park to your office? >> y

we got off the phone from the carver county sheriff's department.y they can't comment about the drug overdose because it's not in their jurisdiction. but any type of report that deals with drugs or drug overdoses will be worked into their investigation. we know that prince was found unresponsive inside the elevator in his paisley park home. and just as you and harvey levin were touching on a little earlier, we just got a copy of the transcript of that 911 call made from the compound this morning. it's very interesting because the caller starts out by saying that prince is unconscious, then a few seconds later he says, quote, he appears very nervous, okay, we have, um, yeah, we have um, so yeah, the person is dead. the dispatcher replies, okay, get me the address, please. and the caller responds, okay, i'm working on it. clearly not knowing where he was. the dispatcher then says, concentrate on that. the caller says, and the people are just distraught, meaning there were more than one or two people inside that compound. i understand they're distraugh

now the carver county sheriff spoke to the press just a short time ago.said there were no obvious signs of trauma. nbc's blake mccoy is outside the sheriff's office in suburban minneapolis. so, blake, the sheriff spoke about maybe a little bit of what we know so far. what have we learned so far in this investigation? >> reporter: well, you mentioned no signs of trauma. he also said they do not believe this is a suicide. so as to a cause of death, what that leaves, accidental death of some kind, or natural death of some kind. but beyond just not a suicide and no signs of trauma, there was no speculation. we do know the autopsy was completed around 1:00 local time today. the physical autopsy. what they're waiting for now is toxicology results. in the press conference, he did address slightly rumors that have been circulating online that perhaps it was a drug overdose. what he talked about there was that his officers do carry narcan, which is used to combat opiate overdoses. he said first responders here in carver county do have narcan at their dispossposal
