conrad murray, casey anthony.w if we've ever gotten a peek into the jurors' minds like this. >> no. and this is invaluable for both sides because what you can do is -- you sort of get an idea where they're going, where their thought process -- are they buying the defense or are they really siding with the prosecution? and then you get to come back and sort of remold. the defense is still in their case in chief. so a lot of the questions, it seemed to me, were sort of poking at this self-defense thing. why didn't you call for help once you were safe and out of the situation? why didn't you do x, y, z? what the defense can do in response to that is have their experts who are coming up after her answer those type of questions. why would a person, even if they acted in self-defense, still not call for help? they can tailor what's coming and the prosecution still gets a rebuttal case. if they think they need to, they can address those issues as well. >> sounds like doubt. let's listen to one of those questions that rea

that's where cnn's casey wian is braving the bitter wind. casey. >> christi, a nightmare for motorists in colorado all day on saturday. sections of interstate 70 closed to the kansas border for most of the day and also interstate 25 closed in both directions in the area south and north of denver. massive pileups caused authorities to close the roads. we were in the middle of the storm. we are at a rest stop between colorado springs and pueblo, colorado, and we are in the middle of a very serious storm. you can see the flags over here just being whipped by the wind. the snow is blowing very dramatically. it really hurts your face just to be standing out here in this snow. over here you can see -- or you can't see interstate 25. normally the speed limit on the interstate is 75 miles an hour. you can see as this vehicle goes by going much slower. you can also see on the other side of the interstate vehicles heading south at a very slow rate of speed, perhaps maybe 30 miles an hour or so. for the past 20 miles that we've been driving we've seen

casey wian joins us. what's the latest, casey? >> reporter: the latest is, anderson, authorities are asking for help from the public. because they don't have a good sense of who this shooter might have been. the latest bit of information they are pursuing is they're looking for a woman who they describe as a speed walker, who was walking through this neighborhood, she's described as a woman between the ages of 35 and 50 years old, wearing a cap, a jacket, and pants, light-colored pants, exercising through the neighborhood. they say she is not a suspect, but they believe she may have information that could help them potentially identify -- help to identify who the killer might be. they are also looking for a vehicle, a late '80s, early '90s model vehicle described as boxy in nature, perhaps an older lincoln or a cadillac, shiny vehicle. they say it was parked about 200 yards from tom clements' house, 15 minutes before the killing. before the 911 call was made by a family member. they say witnesses saw that car idling and unoccupied

"outfront" tonight, casey wiian in monument. this is a horrific story to even contemplate.se to identifying the suspect? >> reporter: erin, it really is a bizarre story, a tragic story. and, no, it doesn't appear that they're close to identifying the person who walked up to the front door of tom clement's house last night and shot him dead, apparently in cold blood. they are telling us that another family member was home at the time of the shooting. they will not identify who that family member is. that person called 911 immediately after the shooting. we do not know of any specific threats against clement before the shooting took place. in fact, he was universally liked, in fact, even loved by many of the people who knew him and worked with him. investigators say they are not ruling out anything at this point. >> as you know from the start of this investigation when it began last night because of the fact that mr. clement served in the position that he did, as the executive director of colorado department of corrections, we're sensitive to the fact that there could be any
