casey stegall is on the ground for news fort worth. sey, this news just breaking now. >> yeah, dana. in fact, the press conference here at fort worth police headquarters is still underway as we speak. here are the key notes that we can take away. number one, the police chief says that after reviewing this incident, that he intended on firing the police officer today. but the officer turned in his resignation before he was able to be fired. but he did note that it will go down as a dishonorable discharge from the fort worth police department. he also points out that the criminal investigation still is proceeding even though this individual is no longer with the police department any longer. we also learned his name. aaron dean. the name of the officer who fired that shot early saturday morning into sunday morning, saturday night into sunday morning about 2:30 a.m. is when this went down. fort worth police say aaron dean arrived on the scene that night and was responding to a welfare check call when he saw a shadow in the window, yelled s
