impact at the san francisco based jewish community federation and endowment foundation and to rabbi castner from the jewish federation and foundation of the east bay. welcome. >> thank you. >> thanks for having us. >> let's ask you what is the jewish population study? >> well, this is a study about the demographics and so much more of the bay area jewish community. there are many things that are exciting about this study but i think most exciting is it's the first population study that's ever been done that includes the entire bay area. that's ten counties. it looks not just at demographics but more sociodemographics about the population. >> generally, we are talking about the far east bay, what we think of as south bay including silicone valley and up north throughout napa county. >> even s on olano and of course san francisco. >> what are some of the things that we have learned? >> so much. i will say a few key take aways. there is so much to say about each one. i think one of the most important take aways from my perspective is that we have highly engaged small core of jewish people who

my name is nick castner. we have benefitted from clean power through the puc for a long time now. we also benefit from the fact that the puc provides support for the sustainability office, for the director, for energy audits, efficiency work, panels, and for water bottle filling stations. and the puc also supports our garden education and environmental science efforts. so we've had a long road trip with the puc. that's why we've been troubled by some of the problems that have occurred recently in terms of electrical service upgrades. they cost us delay, space, and cost, as has already been mentioned. as you can image, we allow for school construction to be completed before school starts. what could we do when we had 350 students that could no longer attend their school because the project is not complete. the uncertainty about the electrical requirements causes a delay in the design process and causes us to worry about whether we can meet our own internal deadlines. just as an example as the inability to change schedules, where we first found out about these new requirements, we a

i have understand that nick castner who is in charge of sustainability, i think he is very talented, but this is a different issue. this issue of combining transportation with safe routes and all those other things, i think actually they need to hire a transportation director because it is so actually related to each other, and then you know, i mean i love that -- has its goal for 2030, but also i don't see anything that really ayadieseses the increase of traffic mean aggressor lot of tncs is that what they are called, that are all over our streets now and i worry about the students in my district actually crossing these intersections in a neighborhood which doesn't h lot of traffic and actually people in my own neighborhood are grappling with how they change streets because of the increased traffic, so i would just say yeah, i think it's a good start and i feel like i am happy to help work on this and i see some holes it in, but thank you supervisor tang for your work on this. >> supervisor safai: thank you supervisor tang for your effort and work onhis. somehow the safe routes to s
