well, here in castro valley appears that a homeowner has been shot. >> after he confronted a group of catalytic converter thieves. according to the alameda county sheriff's office, deputies responded here to the 4500 block of sergeant avenue in castro valley just before 04:00am wednesday on reports of shots fired. when they arrived, they found a male victim who had been shot twice in the leg. the sheriff's office says that the victim was attacked after he confronted for people who are tempting to steal a catalytic converter from a car parked along the street after the shooting. the suspects fled the area in a silver four-door sedan. the victim was taken to the hospital and is expected to be okay. shortly after thevshooting, the suspects vehicle was spotted traveling along 5.80. a sheriff's deputy followed the car on to eastbound. 24 the california highway patrol and the sheriff's deputy then tried to pull over the car, but it wouldn't stop later in the morning. the sedan was involved in an accident in walnut creek. the 4 suspects were seen fleeing on foot and have not yet been found.
