defender who was never prosecuted a case this week the host of inside area politics, our own catherine heenan sat down with the district attorney's elects talk about. >>and that is new job. >>is what we know that federal authorities have traced some fentanyl that killed a man and his baby to the tenderloin where does the drug problem range and your priorities. >>we know that the war on drugs with a colossal failure in san francisco in across this country. i refuse to double down on those failed policies that being said we cannot simply stand by and do nothing in the face of the epidemic we see on our streets. my commitment is to lead with a public health approach to it is a public health problem. but there is absolutely a role for law enforcement to play in keeping our streets safe from drugs, especially from drugs like fentanyl that are killing people i want to make sure that in san francisco, it's easier to get help than it is to get high. that means leading with partnerships nonprofits with the department public health with people who can attack the demand for drugs not only the supplier.
