catherine stephanie says she is working with the city -- city's attorney office to stop the threat. >> reporter: guns, domestic abusers, terrorists, those who are to mentally ill to have guns, and any person to -- who cannot purchase a firearm legally, canal print one at home. >> stephanie says she plans to introduce that legislation this fall. stephen kotowski is a shooting instruction and columnist for the washington free beacon. he joins me now. you argue the debate over 3-d guns is politically motivated? >> reporter: i think there is a lot of misinformation about the realities surrounding 3-d printed guns, for instance, the idea that the file is available now and is undetectable by metal detectors. most of these firearms will require other pieces of metal. most of them are made almost entirely of metal, with one or two small parts being made of plastic. >> stephen, they do not have serial numbers, which would mean they would be untraceable in that regard? >> that is correct in terms that they don't have serial numbers. but, that is not a new development, either. americans have bee
