. >> nbc news correspondent catie beck joins us from elizabeth city, north carolina.om the family's autopsy last hour? >> well, andrea, we learned actually minutes after that fatal gunshot wound to the back of the head is when andrew brown died on scene. we also know he suffered four additional gunshot wounds to the arm before that fatal gunshot wound. his family, again, calling for transparency at today's press conference, saying they were only able to view 20 seconds of that bodycam footage yesterday. they repeated it over and over again before sheriff's deputies but were not able to lead with the footage and not able to see the entire case. so far along with the silence from the sheriff's department, the anger grows. there have been peaceful protests in elizabeth city so far but today's press conference was a little tense and different. the tone, outrage certainly spiking the longer and less we hear from the sheriff's department. as you mentioned, the fbi out of charlotte has said they are going to begin an investigation. that again raises the stakes in this case a

. >> catie beck, north carolina, the bureau of investigation looking into the shooting of andrew brown, junior. he was fatally shot by deputies serving a search warrant. shot in his car. we don't have body cam footage. what do we know about what happened in north carolina? >> reporter: there's still a lot of unanswered questions and cries for transparency and getting those answers are certainly getting louder from those in the community. we are standing on the street where the home of andrew brown is and where this incident took place. what we know from police is that 8:30 yesterday morning, they were serving a search warrant. at that point, there some type of confrontation that resulted in a fatal police shooting. they have not let on much more than that, what led up to it and the circumstances around it are still sort of sealed at this point. we have heard from police yesterday at a press conference. they really didn't offer much more than what i have just told you. people here in the community are, like in other communities, demanding transparency, demanding answers and demanding to

catie beck joins us now from elizabeth city, north carolina. she's been following the case.know about the timing of the judge's decision? do we expect we will get something soon, a decision in the next few hours? >> reporter: yeah. the judge has indicated that that decision will likely be made sometime maybe even within the hour. he is going to be hearing a petition from the family and representatives of brown as well as the media on possibly releasing this bodycam footage. some big developments have happened in the courtroom over the past hour. i want to bring you up to speed. the district attorney here made an argument that the body camera not be released for 30 days. he is asking the judge to withhold the release for 30 days to allow the state bureau of investigation to complete its investigation prior to releasing that bodycam footage. he also indicated that any characterization that mr. brown was sitting stationary in his car when he was fired on is false. he indicated to the judge who has seen the video that mr. brown moved backwards and forwards, making contact with d
