neil cavuto. take it away. neil: charles, thank you very much. we're focusing on the president of the united states, 45 minutes away from making pretax day announcement. arguing that the tax cuts will be manna from heaven for taxpayers, even though the tax filing deadline is reflective of taxes you paid last year. the president will make number of comparisons for individuals that launched a rocket for this economy and some poll numbers he is convinced are going republicans way. you could have a heck of a time seeing that in some of the poll data. in an interesting subset to some numbers out today, when americans are queried where do they see control of congress going what they would prefer, the 10 point gap democrats has over republicans narrowed to seven point gap. whether it has to do with people feeling better about that or their own prospects. dow is higher better than 215 reports. a lot of relief rally continues after the syrian attacks over the weekend, despite assad following up with attacks over rebel positions that he was targeting. form

neil: they're already telling me thanks for selling it, cavuto.hen interest rates go back up, you know, i know people panic about this, but if you're a saver or depending on a cd or your social security and the increases are pegged to those rates, you want interest rates to be higher than they are. how does that play out when you get chose to retirement -- close to retirement, the reflecting and improving economy, that's why they're rising. how high is high? what's the effect on people who worry about their stock investments? >> in all seriousness, this is a very serious issue for savers who have been miserable for a decade now with such low interest rates. neil: right. >> so it's a double-edged sword. on the one hand, of course, you want more income, but the process of getting there is very painful if you're a bondholder. and a lot of people probably don't understand this dynamic. when yields go up, when the income from a bond goes up, the value of that bond goes down. neil: that's right. >> the reason is because who wants to buy your 3% bond if

cavuto starts now. >> neil: a lot to put together here.at the manhattan federal court. attorneys for president trump are facing off the prosecutors as we speak. at issue, whether documents, electronic devices seized from michael cohen are protected by attorney client privilege. the president's lawyers say they are. they want to go through those documents document by document and decide which ones the federal government should see and which they cannot say and will a judge allow it. we're on it. and kemba wood also wants the names of michael cohen's clients in the public. they are president trump, elliot brody and of course you heard once or twice, sean hannity.

i looked at the markets earlier and watching cavuto on fox business network. the markets were tanking. down hundreds of points, over 500 points and an idea that we were going into an extended trade war. then a reversal of 730 points. what happened? what is the more accurate sentiment in gray reburn, what do you think? which is real to you? >> neil, good to be on with you again. on the trade issue, i agree with a lot of the comments that you just got. the market -- the stock market we acted with throw the baby out with the bath water based on the chinese tariffs. the reality is, nothing has been put in place. what you're looking at is leverage. trump and his administration are looking at negotiating. that doesn't mean they can't happen and if they do, the problem is areas like soy beans and agriculture where those products are not that distinguishable from products from other countries. like you mentioned soy beans. we probably exported $100 billion in soy beans last year. $20 billion went to china. argentina export more than we do. i doubt there's a difference

charles: i thought construction cavuto. charles: i -- neil: i know where you were going.nse of the administration's position on -- on not only the trade war, whatever, but on amazon, explain, you seem to think that there's some wisdom to this that we might be missing. charles: well, no, i come through all of the postal service stuff and it's hard -- they won't tell us what the exact deal with amazon, we do know it was cut in 2013, we do know that they set their fixed cost which is 5 and a half percent but 25% of the business, that's where the subsidy comes in, defacto subsidy and amazon is smart to take advantage of it. neil: the post office cut a very lousy deal. but the post office was losing money before amazon. charles: congress will not allow the post office to compete against fedex or ups, ironically what they have lied is let amazon grow enough where they will launch own version of fedex and ups. ultimately free market wills take care of this because they always have. neil: shouldn't the president let the free markets take care of this? >> if he has a chance to mak
