in addition, the cbc has supported well over 7,000 congressional ents in cbc meeting spaces, assisted more than 31,000 of our interns and staff on delivering engaging capitol tours, and assisted guests at congressional gold medal ceremonies, commemoration ceremonies, annual memorial day and capitol 4th of july concerts as well as three presidential inaugurations. today we welcome the leader of these efforts, ms. beth clemmons, chief executive officer for visitor services at the cbc. under ms. clemmons' management, the vast majority of constituents rate their experience as a positive one. according to cvc survey data 93% of visitors to the capital said their expectations were met or were exceeded and they were likely to recommend the capitol tour to their friends. last year the cvc witnessed the highest number of visitors to its facilities at more than 2.4 million americans and international visitors who came to see our great symbol of democracy in action. in 2017 the cvc also had a record number of saims their restaurant and gift shops which proudly sell only made in america merchandi

we're open on saturday at cbc. we are closed on sundays.we typically do not host events on sunday unless it's a congressional directive. we're happy to do that. we have a ceremony coming up in june with king can kamaha on saturday. >> ordinarily available by use of reservation through members process, great. do you have a visitor feedback process that you're using to analyze the use of the space and the facilities? >> we do have visitor feedback systems in a number of different areas. our visitor surveys are primarily done for folks that are on tour or visiting exhibition hall or something like that. we do ask our participants that utilize the space, in the congressional auditorium and congressional meeting rooms for their feedback. we ask them to rate our service, how we're doing, what we can do to be better service providers. >> can you describe the current ticketing system, and how that's working? >> i can. we do have a reservation system, as i mentioned earlier, and so ideally a person would go online to book the reservation in advance.

when you look at the cbc research. it tells us the hospital stays dropped 6%, but hospital costs have risen 50%. so we have to have a whole list of approach to the reducing medical costs in america. president trump: some other countries, their medicine is a tiny fraction what the medicine costs in the u.s.a. it's unfair and it's ridiculous and it's not going to happen any longer. charles: it's a tall undertaking to take on these drug companies. what do you think about this? >> i think the president has done it in the right way. he's taken and little bit from each of the industries and rejected the call to the socialist approach. and i think all in all, aligning the incentives in a way that cost the list prices to go down and eliminates the double dipping from pharmacy benefit managers. and pharmacies must not be preclude from telling their customers where they can get the drug cheaper. i'm very pleads to see this proposal from the president. charles: he's an insider and understands how all these moving parts work. a 50
