i've just learned in the last few minutes that a senior source with cbp tells me that the rgv sectorconsidering beginning very soon, if not effective immediately, releasing illegal crossing migrants without issuing them that notice to appear after they claim asylum simply because, according to this source, the situation is, quote, so dire that they don't have the capacity to even hold people long enough to issue that notice to appear. now, so that people understand, they get that notice to appear, then are released so they show up to an appointed court date to have an asylum hearing. if they were to take this unprecedented step, as this source tells me, in the rgv it would mean that responsibility to get a hearing, to get the court appearance, it would rely on that migrant themself. this would not apply to unaccompanied children, and i it certainly is something that will be a game-changer, if you will, and change the way things are done. we'll have to find out more. now, i talked to chiefs in these sectors because dhs does not allow us to do so. we're pursuing it very much. just to g
