moneywatch report this morning. the government just released the monthly report on inflation. the consumer price index and to break that all down, cbse results. jill, good morning and let's get right into it. what did the november data show us? >> reporter: well, prices accelerated slightly in the month of november. and that pushed the annual inflation rate up to 2.7%. that's up slightly from the previous month. when we pull out food and energy, we see the prices are up 3.3% from a year ago. that matches the previous month as is the case almost every month in the past year or so. the big culprit here, shelter costs, which are still going up by 4.7% from a year ago. again, that's much better than it was. but that's the last component to really start to see some good improvement for the overall inflation data. >> so jill, something we saw throughout the presidential campaign were you know, the high prices were cited as a top concern for voters. so -- how are consumers feeling now that the election is behind us? >> reporter: we've got this fresh survey out from the new york federal reserve. and it showed that people believe that inflat
