but phil who is good at math checked the cdc numbers on what the cdc director just claimed on cnn.he director of the cdc has no idea what she is talking about. the actual numbers from the cdc website. from 2019 to 2020, a total of 124 children died of covid. from 2020 to this year a total of 213 children died of covid. by comparison the influenza virus killed more than 400 children last year. in fact that was not an aberration. influenza killed far more children than covid has in 5 years. it's not close. assuming that the cdc's numbers on underaged death from covid are accurate. it looks like they are not. in a recent report the cdc itself acknowledges it could be over-reporting the number of children who died from covid. the cdc report saying 2.5% of those who died had co existing medical condition. for children under age 18, it was over 35% who died from covid had an unrelated medical condition. more than a third of children listed on the record as dying from covid had a co-morbiditty. they might be related to the death of those insurance. -- children. why are we getting so preci

and our four priorities of cdc's ongoing response. tracking and preventing further spread of covid, creating access to and confidence in vaccines, advancing health equity, and getting our children back to school. the current data reveal two divergent truths. since the epidemic peaked in january 2021, we have seen large reductions in covid-19 cases, hospitalizations, and deaths. and these trends are a testament to the success of our vaccination program and the tireless effort of professionals from across health, business, and government sectors who have come together to respond. on the other hand, our progress across the country is not uniform. vaccine coverage varies by state and by county. communities where people remain unvaccinated are most vulnerable, and most likely to experience increase in case counts. as of last week, nearly 50% of vaccine eligible populations in this country is now fully vaccinated. 160 million people, and still nearly 2/3 of counties in the united states have vaccine coverage less than 40%. in areas where va
