we today name the post office after cecil e. bolt. he was born an raised in idaho but like many came to california. after graduating from college, mr. bolt moved to fowler in 1939. just prior to world war ii, he was drafted into the u.s. army and was -- and as was noted was assigned to the 75th ar tillly unit in alaska. he was part of, as tom brokaw wrote, america's greatest generation. 1942, he married the love of his life, nay oh moo opal gorley and they raised two loving daughters, dorothy and kathy jean. bolt, after the war, returned to fowler and was appointed post-master a position he held for 27 years. known for his dedication and friendly demeanor, as many times he would personally deliver packages, not just during the christmas season but throughout the year because of course everybody knew cecil. his decades of public service extended far beyond the walls of the post office which centered as a hub of activity for the community. cecil volunteered every day for more than 17 years at the marshall elementary school where hi -- h

watch it there on 95 through hartford and cecil counties.rent weather shows that pretty well defined rain/snow line passing south of the greater baltimore area. that's mixed precipitation right there. all rain for everyone on the eastern shore, this should definitely be a rain event. could see some straight snow flakes mixed in there with some sleet. for the most part it will be a rain event. here is the major part of the storm along this warm front that's moving through just north of the florida panhandle. will continue moving out into the atlantic ocean. these two upper level trough fronts that are basically giving us the back end of this, if you will, and the remaining moisture that will continue to be pushed out of here by this high pressure system way out west. that will make things very windy as we head into this evening and tomorrow. again, the snowy conditions should move in here within the next several hours. probably an hour for some. as far as today's forecast, we'll cat it 33 to 38. we did see some spots that are in the low 40s n

all the green showing up from baltimore all the way along 95 into cecil county, more rain showers pushing through northern delaware into new jersey and behind us we have rain showers across northern virginia but if you've been following radar the past couple of hours it looks a little better out there. we're not seeing nearly as many shades of yellow, usually heavier showers, still heavy showers in york and southern pennsylvania. the rain is letting up but there are still showers and areas of drizzle. watch out for that on the roads early today. a wider view of what's happening right now, clouds across the area keeping temperatures instead. currently around 50 at the airport, 53 at college park but 48 in gaithersburg and mid 50's north into parkton and westminster. chilly temperatures holding instead throughout the day. the stationary boundary is in place across the state so this is the boundary between the cold the north and mild air to the south, we are sitting into the middle and with the unsettled weather, temperatures won't have the opportunity to move much today. the forecast, after

cecil county through the eastern shore and a winter band. let's show you that.you can see the wrap around band. the center of the storm, that low pressure area, sort of a miniature version of that hurricane look right here south of baltimore but there's cold air wrapping on the back side. the winter weather will kick back up across frederick county and some will come back up through the carroll county area. it's going to be a short burst and behind that will be drying conditions but it is interesting to see that one last sort of wintry band on the back edge. winter weather advisories continue across through carroll. it is expired for the city. this is through 7:00. we'll see if that gets extended. also, high wind advisories are up. we'll take that window down and take a look at some of the cameras. that winter weather and then the snow kind of going away and the rain in towson. we'll take you to baltimore, robert w. towson, a snowy start. doing a number on it. there's slushy spots. thick in ellicott city. there's some snow on the grass. in bel air a little tough
