although just a little snow streamer action on the backside of this impacting points like northern cecil county and part of harford and kent county. by6:00, we're completely done with it even up through new york but the new england states deal until tomorrow evening with this. then the big dig out will start. in the meantime, here in maryland, sunshine sat. sunday,clouding up, yes that's a new storm you see but a very different system. frontalsystem and this one looks like a pure rain producer for all of maryland at least so we're not looking at winter weather from the likes of this storm but one last look at the center of it. it's those wrap around bands that are actually feeding off the ocean moisture off shore wrapping into the mountains in the interior north sxooes the totals are going -- east and the totals are going to be close to two inches cold tomorrow night and the winds are at least diagnose. the next few days, sunday, not bad, mid-40s, partly cloudy. can't complain too much about that. and then monday and tuesday, slightly milder, low 50s and a chance for rain, rain only on monday.

we have one for cecil county. temperatures are well above freezing for the state.upper 40s in ocean city. now, oakland is in the 30s so is cumberland. as we head through the afternoon the center of this stormer is going to pass south of us. that's going to draw in colder air and change what's across the northern part of the state over no snow. since we've been so warm and temperatures are way above freezing it's not going to stick initially. it's trying to tap into colder air but there's not a huge source of cold air. for the most part the roads are just going to be wet this evening. as we head through the over night areas slushing is possible. this is not a huge storm for us. here's the back edge of this storm. it will pull out of here tomorrow morning and sunshine returns and we're right back up in the 40s. our forecast comes together like this. here's the storm system making its way through. we have a mix across the south, maybe the west. a slushing coating to an inch for most of us. 44 for our high today. tonight down to 30 degrees. by tomorrow, sunshine is bac

cecil county is one county that you have a winter weather advisory continuing into the evening. here is where we think there could be a little more banding, on the very back edge of this large, large storm system that continues to churn off of new england. i want to show you a little bit of our camera action across the state and take you up into boston. first, in baltimore, obviously ugly. wet conditions. that's been the deal throughout the day. how about further north? yeah. take you up to red sox stadium. there's the snow, pounding the lens. and the snow just keeps coming up there in bean town. looks like a bad camera there. i do want to be take you into parkville as well, again, just the opposite of boston, with all that snow, rain. now a few wintry showers coming in through the rest of the evening. 38 at bwi. humidity is high. winds beginning to pick up, especially east of the chesapeake bay. windiest weather of the state on delmarva. any snow showers we do get are going to melt pretty good as they make contact with the ground. that will hold down really any accumulation. wi

then a winter weather advisory for cecil county, until 3:00 a.m. because of those drops mary is talking about. 30 is the dew point. temperatures are still on the mild side. so anything that is coming down right now is coming in the form. rain because we don't have the cold air to support the frozen precipitation. east/northeasterly wind at 6 miles per hour. 29.67, the barometer. we have 37 in oakland and -- cumberland. 43 in ocean city. you get the idea. in the metro area, temperatures near the 40s. going to take a while for us to get down into the freezing range. but as we start to drop through the evening, with the winds still at a bit of a northerly component, we're going to get the temperatures dropping enough that we could start to pull down some cold air and maybe get some of that snow mixing with the rain. and we'll get a bit of a slush and a coating over the next few hours or so, up until about 10:00, 11:00. temperatures around us are really not bone-chilling cold. no drastic changes between us and our neighbors to the north and northwest.

megan and charlie, over to you. >>> a big mess to clean up right now in cecil county.a train derailed overnight in imington. sending -- elkton. sending ten cars off the tracks and abc2 news linda so is at a fire station a couple of miles away from the scene and linda, what's the very latest? >> reporter: well, no one was hurt and they're still trying to figure out why this csx train derailed. here's what we know and here's some brand new pictures we got overnight. courtesy of the cecil wig. this call came in around midnight. we're told a train originating from albany, new york heading to north carolina, derailed. ten cars jumped off the tracks. two of the cars were carrying sulfuric acid. the engineer initially thought the cars were leaking. a crew was called so was the maryland department of the environment. but when they got to the scene and inspected the damage, they found there was no leak. for several hours overnight, route 213 was shut down in both directions which is singerly road but the road is no reopened and firefighters have cleared the scene. again, becaus

in light sprinkles popping up across harford county into cecil county. most of baltimore city is dry at this point. this is what we will have to watch out for as we go through the afternoon. a lot of clouds in place as the storm system comes in from the south and west. plenty more precipitation on the way. not just rain, but a chance for snow as well. this is what is going to be moving our way as we go into tonight. cold air is coming in on this side of the storm and will help continue those snow chances. 40 degrees to the airport, 45 as we get downtown. low 40's across the northwest suburbs as well. even in the mountains, mid- thirties. upper 30's as well. the arctic air is well off to the north. that is where we get temperatures in the 20-below range. even in northern parts of canada, still in the single digits at this point. enough cold air to produce a whole lot of snow out of the storm system. we are expecting it to start rain throughout the afternoon and change into a wintry mix throughout the evening hours. that is where we could get a minor accum

still a problem over cecil county. clouds will be in place. the winds will pick up. that front is going to hang offshore. watch what happens. that front will dissipate. that area of low pressure will strengthen. the combination between that low around nova scotia and hudson bay will create a wind tunnel effect. it's called a pressure gradient. that will allow for the winds to gust not only tonight but tomorrow afternoon. a lot of questions about the pattern. is it going to snow before the winter is out? it could. we'll see the northern and southern jet tied together. what happens, we've got an pear of low pressure over the gulf coast states that typically runs up the state. yes, suggesting maybe a pattern change before this winter is out. that would be good news for your snow lovers. as it snowed in march, yes. it snowed 7.8 inches. 2008 to 2009, so it's possible before this year is all said and done. we'll talk more about this, though, coming up in just a bit. we'll send it out to wyatt. it's one of those raw evenings. >> the winds will keep ramping up, so wind chil

some light showers also up into cecil county getting showers, chester town. the surface temperatures are west of the bay where we have the freeze concerns in play. all right. here we go. winter weather advisories for north central maryland. this is through saturday morning. yes, we're getting a few light showers, but the ground temps at or below freezing and we think more precipitation coming in through the overnight hours and that could mean a little more in the way of some sleet and freezing rain. a close look and you can see where we have the greatest concerns. show you the future trends, a few light showers for the next couple of hours, maybe rain on the eastern shore. then we push toward eight in the morning. right around daybreak temperatures just below freezing. i think we could get brief freezing rain, brief icing. we'll go to rain showers late in the day, no problems after mid-morning but early saturday morning we got the showers that came in and maybe that first wave of that precipitation in the morning could be in the way of icy showers. so we have
