cecilia vega is there with more. cecilia, good morning. >> reporter: good morning to you. the rally takes place behind me on roosevelt island. it will be the first big rally since she launched in april. the deeply personal subject that you mentioned that's her mother. she hasn't spoken about her. her late mother, she was abandoned as a child. hillary clinton said that experience deeply affected her as an adult. it deeply affected the advocacy she has taken on as a politician. as a rally, this is a chance for one of america's well known politicians to reintroduce herself to voters. we have seen the small round table discussions that she has been holding around the country. she is criticized for having them highly staged and choreographed. now she is going to make her case why she should become president of the united states. today she is going to talk a lot about the middle class. that is going to be one of the center pieces of her campaign. thousands of people are expected to show up for the event today. the campaign says they are at capacity today. and among the people on
