cecily, what's the latest from accuweather? >> and jim, we could get up to about three-quarters of an inch of rain on sunday but the entire weekend will not be a washout. double scan live showing the showers that worked through earlier today have lifted north and east of our region. so, we have a break in the rain. however, as we fly out west, this is what we will be dealing with on sunday. there's a very powerful low pressure and it is causing severe weather, tornado warnings and watches, astern dougatornado possibly on the grd south of oklahoma city. parts of the rockies and colorado could get up to a foot of snow so it's a powerful storm system. it will not bring us severe weather because of the cold air. the cold air really basically saps the strength from the storm system and it has been cold the past three days, hasn't felt like spring. today's high 53 degrees. that's 16 degrees below normal. so, three days of temperatures stuck in the 50's. tomorrow, though, we should make it up into the low 60's. since it will be a dry

cecily tynan is tracking the timing of the system on live double scan radar. silver lining is mess of the road won't get too messy. >> that is exactly right, monica. this is april. this is not february. we have cloud, high sun angle in april which is equivalent to the sun and until late august, will melt most of this on the road. so double scan live is showing the system that i'm tracking is over northern ohio and what this low pressure will do, this clipper, it will move straight over us and it will intensify when it reaches the coast and that will enable banding of snow. it is key of how heavy it falls. where we get heavy snow, it will stay snow, all the way to the surface. it won't melt. that could accumulate on grass surfaces. this is the area we're looking at. north of the pennsylvania turnpike thinks where the national weather service has issued a winter weather advisory really all day long from 7:00 in the morning until 8:00 o'clock in the evening and this is the best chance of seeing, a couple of inches of grassy accumulation. future tracker showing th

s cecily? >> it doesn't feel like april, does it? a taste of winter. 38 degrees currently and temperatures are dropping quickly overnight. satellite 6 and action radar showing the reason why we have high pressure building right over us. the good news is that the high pressure is diminishing the winds. we won't have the wind chill factor overnight. when you have the high pressure over you, not a cloud in the sky. any heat the earth absorbed from the sun goes straight into the atmosphere and that allows the temperatures to drop very quickly. the national weather service has posted a freeze warning for most of our viewing area. really areas south of the pennsylvania turnpike. this is where the growing season has already started. so if you do have any early spring blooms, you really do want to cover them up tonight. this could cause a lot of problems, especially for the fruit trees like the peach trees in new jersey. talking about near record cold. all the record lows responsibility set back in 1982. allentown looks like it will tie the record low of 18. r

let's check in with double scan radar and cecily tynan. cecily. >> and jim, we do have a line of thunderstorms moving in really right on schedule and some of these storms have been producing some high gusty winds and even hail so the national weather service has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for parts of bucks county into hunterdon county until 6:15 for the potential for damaging wind gusts. i want to show you this area that does have the severe weather and this right now is basically between 309 and 611. it's across the northeast extension of the pennsylvania turnpike. we've had 69 lightning strikes alone in this area and also something we can do on storm tracker, we can flip it over and we can see the hail and so we have had reports of hail anywhere from the size of pea, the size of pennies along that stretch as it continues to push to the northeast pretty quickly at about 50 miles per hour. we'll flip this over to radar mode and show you that this line of storms does extend to the south moving through chester county heading towar

meteorologist cecily tynan live outside for us with more. >> hi, monica.after a beautiful spring weekend today feels like summer. we are warming things up. saturday 67 degrees. yesterday 73. today so far 81 degrees which is 16 degrees above the average high for this time of the year so it feels like the middle of june but there is a big change with the temperatures inland versus along the shore. well, philadelphia 81, wilmington and reading 80, allentown 82. down the shore, though, you got the winds off the ocean. the ocean temperatures only 53 degrees so that has a big impact on the air temperatures. temperatures on the beaches generally just in the low to mid 60's. now, satellite6 along with action radar showing we are still cloud free, but if you look over northern new york state you can see some clouds beginning to move in. that's with a back door cold front that will move through tomorrow and will bring us slightly cooler air. temperatures still above normal but this is what to expect. again, any other as warm tomorrow as today. and i know some people
