kcrg-tv9's mark carlson took a tour of the cedar river flooding in cedar rapids eighth avenue bridge to show us what he saw. well when you get right up to the flood walls, you can really see them at work. this is the hesco barrier that went up along 16th avenue. you can really see how things are drier on the north end of the barrier, where the majority of the new bo officials say that barrier had to go along 16th avenue because it had to be a on a hard surface. so there's 3 to 4 feet of water on the the other side of the barrier. while the crest has happened, city officials say they have to keep carefully monitoring this situation.
