me to discuss this is retired lieutenant colonel anthony shaffer senior fellow for center for advance defense studies and empath america tony thanks so much for joining us tonight and i guess for having you know here and i've had this discussion many times about the war in afghanistan but here we are reaching get another anniversary here now it's been a full ten years and if you're going to give one reason for virus still fighting us war what would you say to us because we can't and that's very simple and i know that may be hard to believe but we are actually engaged in this instant counterinsurgency because we can actually go to the source and stability which is pakistan and i just heard your last clip and you know i come at this from a completely different perspective but i agree with their sentiments it's time to come home i believe that isn't our best security interests and i said this with you there look i'm not anti-war and i stupidity and the way we've engaged this and continue it is insane it's stupid because the real adversaries we have to deal with aren't in afghanistan and one of the notab

and joining us now, lieutenant colonel tony schaeffer, senior fellow at the center for advanced defense studiesay. this is the deal, we went into libya for the so-called reason of humanitarian reasons because we wanted to prevent gadhafi from killing his own people and here we have a situation, not only killing his own people, his government is involved in tour touring kids and having them delivered to their families and this is hugely bad and our own ambassador pulled out because of violence against him and, he's calling president obama's bluff and, the bottom line is, we have train other arab countries in 21st century armies and, military force, i'm not saying, is the solution but we shouldn't be going into settle this, the guy is bad and i'm not saying we should cause regime change and he's killing his own people and if the arabs are concerned they should help resolve this, not us. >> dave: he's murdered thousands of people, his regime, not him, thousands of people in the streets and why in your opinion are we staying out? >> he's calling or bluff and we can't go in and are dealing with afgh
