the iowa department of public health announced a woman between 60-80 years old has contracted zika. she tested positive after returning from central america. the department sent out a statement saying, "the general public is not at risk of contracting the virus, because the mosquitos that transmit zika are not established in iowa. " however, the health department is warning iowans, especially pregnant women, who are traveling to these areas to protect themselves. the positive test has been sent to the c-d-c for more analysis. amanda: onto our top collins-maxwell is now looking for a new superintendent. amanda: last night, their superintendent, jason ellingson, resigned after ten years at the district. school officials had placed ellingson on administrative leave earlier this week after a report was filed the district is currently investigating the allegations... after nearly two hours of closed session, resignation was board. he immediately goes off of the district's payroll, but he does receive vacation pay and other accumulated benefits. questions afterward but reason for the resignation, saying quote...
