it does extend through the central valley. this fog it provokes performs differently and does not expire until 1:00 in the afternoon. that is late for fog birding often here at home, the fog is usually done by 10:00. you can pick up the bay area in the clear and this is how extensive the fog was well into the afternoon and what it will likely look like again today . in terms of visibility at home, we have watch the central valley to see if it creeps into other areas. there is locally produced fog in the northern valley is where we see fog . the highs today will be fine and whatever fog we develop will be gone by 10:00 a.m. . temperatures climb to the mid to upper 50s today . us subtle warming trend through the forecast. as we look at christmas eve day on saturday , the daytime highs will be in the mid 60s . that is san jose and oakland in the low 60s . a few clouds in the afternoon with daytime highs that gradually get warmer by the end of the seven day forecast. that is really the story in the seven-day forecast. we are not l

here tomorrow morning we do have this fog advisory if are doing any early traveling into the central valley you want to watch out for visibility, quarter-mile off of the dense fog advisory through parts of the east bay. let's get a closer look at the microclimate forecast and you can see it right here, the cloud cover that we will see from that fog to the central valley and then just some general clouds mixing in with that as well. as we head to tomorrow afternoon, we get some spotty rain here around 5:00 and more of that scattered rain as we hit tomorrow night. totals trace amounts to about 2/10 of an inch. no need for the umbrella tomorrow morning. we just have the cloud cover and those clouds will insulate us a little bit. not as cold as you've been used to at least lately. we are down here 243 in the south bay tri-valley at 42. more of the low to mid 40s over the east bay san francisco and north bay. daytime highs for tomorrow pretty simple. 50s across the board from santa rosa to concord down to san jose. >>> let's fast-forward things into next week. this wide reaching system will have

winter cast shows clear skies tonight which means cold temperatures, fog for the central valley, it issible to see some of that in the bay area but not widespread. clouds increase tomorrow night, the first wave of moisture should miss us to the south. there is still an outside chance changes its mind and heads towards us. we will keep you updated on that through the next 36 hours or so before that rain will be falling further down the coast and into the central valley. we will be seeing increasing clouds throughout the day on saturday, and a chance of showers through the afternoon. this will be hit or miss stuff. it will not be a washout on saturday but be flexible with outdoor plants. the system will not be very well organized but that works against our ability to predict them with any kind of accuracy. while we will see scattered showers trying to pin down exactly where the rain will fall at any point will be difficult until we get this better organized band of rain through the west. we are not done with the rain yet, lining up with a storm system in place of the coast through the we

this really did a classic number on the central valley. if you drive into the central valley tomorrow morning, be prepared for significant slowing down. because, you don't want to mess with the fog. in the early morning hours. if we look at the futurecast depiction form, we will develop our own home grown fog here. sometimes that can creep over into contra costa county and into the alameda county. tomorrow, our issue at home will be the stuff we develop here locally. and it shouldn't be terribly bad. but still enough that you will want extra time. here is how we cool down the morning lows. the next storm which is not bringing us rain, you see it show up with the shield of clouds and the rain appears there. that gives us the clouds and the overnight hours. though we don't get the rain out of it, it is the overnight hours and the clouds that will help to improve the morning lows. so with clear skies again tomorrow, and likely again on monday, we still have to do the upper 20s for the north bay valleys but it will warm up into the mid and upp
