no accidents on the way to the pentagon. 66 has a growing volume of manassas and centreville and 50. >>> for drivers in maryland, the wait is over. >> a lot of people have anticipated this. the second segment of the intercounty connector officially opens to drivers today. it runs from georgia avenue in gaithersburg to interstate 95 in laurel. ben eisler is near the entrance to the toll road with what drivers should know. >> its been a long time coming. it took four years to complete. the idea originated in 1950. today the icc connector is officially open. 16 miles of it. the road will cut a 47-minute trip from laurel to gaithersburg down to just 17 minutes. but it will come at a price. the next two weeks will be free. it will then cost anywhere from $4 to $6 per ride. free with the e-z pass for now. this will hold back a state's transportation future for years, this expensive construction. people live nearby are just happy the construction is over. all that's left is a one-mile stretch that will connect this road to route 1. no word on when the final stretch will be opened. ben eisle
