cesar chavez street, near folsom, will be home to one of the speed cameras.spoke to some people who live nearby. i also have many friends who have been injured by speeding and reckless drivers, and i think that anything that we can do to reduce that behavior is good. i cycle everywhere i go, so i think holding people accountable to the speed limit is important. and certainly part of my everyday life in december. the cameras are installed in february. they're activated. but for the first couple of months, the registered owner of the vehicle will only receive a warning. but in april, it starts for real. the sfmta says drivers exceeding the speed limit by 11 to 15mph will receive a $50 ticket in the mail up to 25 over the limit will cost you $100 more than 26 over the limit $200. people going 100mph face a $500 fine. there's a very easy way to avoid receiving one of these tickets. it's to not spee. so that's what i would recommend. in san francisco, terry mcsweeney, nbc bay area news. they're hoping this will be a new chapter for the san francisco unified school
