here with the latest on all of it, meteorologist chad myers. chad, the dangerous weather that moved across the country this week isn't over yet. who's getting hit the hardest right now? >> well, down east maine into new brunswick into canada. but the biggest concern i have right now for the mass amount of people is boston. 36 all day, raining. now it's down to 32. and beginning to snow. so by morning, what was wet will be white or will be an ice puddle. so you have to be careful here, now that we're going to go down below freezing in boston for the first time, all the way out to the cape as well. that's where the massive amount of people, the most people will be affected by tomorrow's weather when you wake up. everything that was just wet is not going to be wet anymore. we will see an awful lot of snow here in parts of maine, all the way over toward halifax. another foot of snow. that is where it is now. the storm has moved away from the northeast. still going to make cold wind for new york city, cold for albany, into boston, even into new hamps

i want to bring in chad myers. i can't imagine you would realize it would be such a busy day during the holiday week here. but we're talking about severe weather across the country. what do we see in the next 24 hours? >> it's still going to be -- i don't want to say severe because that's reserved for tonighted, hail, damaging winds. but suh r severe in that we're going have heavy winds slowing down the airports maybe as far south as baltimore as wind gusts are 30 miles an hour there. the biggest delays at la gar ya are due to construction. an hour 10, an hour 25, that's in and out delays. if you're coming in, your plane may still be able to kelkt because it's late in leaving. you might take some patience. i had to be evacuated from the south terminal because of a bomb threat and you have 2,000 people having to go back through the security at the same time. that's when you needed a lot of patience, suzanne. >> thank god, chad. i get to stay here for a couple more days. don't have to worry about that travel mess if

chad myers joins us now from the cnn weather center in atlanta.e's a bit of a break for them today, but i guess they shouldn't get too comfortable. >> absolutely not. no. this is going to be a daily event for the next really 15 days. on one day, off the next. storms are still lined up. we talked about this last week how there's just one after mother. rain ask then a break, rain and then a break. new flash flood watches issued for parts of washington and oregon. flood watches and warnings going everywhere because rivers out of their banks and there's just more rain where this came from. many more days. as we push the rain on shore, the moisture from the pacific will be raining from all the way from washington through the cascades and down and big snows into the sierra as well. up to four feet of snow already on the ground, and at least that much still coming for some of these ski resorts there. that's great news for some. at some point in too time that snow gets too deep, and they have to close things and make the avalanche warnings it go. right no

. >> meteorologist chad myers joins us now at the weather center in atlanta. round four. >> yes. >> this seems just cruel. >> and it gets worse. there will be six more rounds in the next 16 days. i can't stress how much rain that's going to -- once you get rain on the ground like we have now, it doesn't just evaporate and run off. it does run off but doesn't just go away. adding to injury. we have 20 inches in some spots on the ground in past 3 storms. we talked about this wednesday last week. i said this is the worst round 0 of storms that i have seen in northern california, washington, oregon in careyears and still cg in. for tomorrow, a minor storm compared to what's coming. minor storms. the moisture surge comes in one storm after the next so here's today in to tomorrow. it rains washington, oregon, cascades gown do down to northe california. four feet at a time and then avalanche issues. one storm after another dill coming and three. there are five to six more on the way, ashleigh. >> i have a lot of friends who are weather men and women in california and

chad myers now joining me live in atlanta. the reason we're talking land slides as well is because fires past are causing problems present. >> you bet. 1.6 million acres in idaho burned, mostly in the hills. 1.2 million acres burned mostly in washington and oregon. when the trees and brush burn off, there's no roots, the roots die and all of a sudden there's nothing holding the dirt back from becoming mud when we get rain like we've had and mudslides. 2012/13 winter may be known as the mudslide danger. if you have a burn scar above your home, you need to always pay attention when the rain comes in like it has. today is a day for a break. today is maybe to clean some of this stuff up. there was that mudslide, we showed you the picture, don't need to show you again, but there's more rain on the way. we have about 16 days in the forecast here. one storm slamming into british columbia, and than another one into western washington and oregon. so far southern california is dry. this is not that el nino type of weather pattern yet. b

cnn's meteorologist chad myers has the latest from the cnn severe weather center. storms in les less than a week. could it have been a whole lot worse? >> certainly. and there will be. there are four more storms to come. we had three. one comes form tomorrow and three lined up like planes heading into an international airport. this is going to be a wet week. 23 inches of rain. not snow. we've had feet of snow in the higher elevations. but 23 inches of rain in spots that has to all run off. now the ground's saturated. it's going to run off every time it rains again. talked about power outages. look at this. this is category 2, 3, 4 wind gusts here in parts of california in the highest of elevations knocking trees down, knocking power lines down as well. backing up to last night, storm moved onshore, drid out today a little bit. but another batch of moisture coming on shore tomorrow. rain starting tomorrow about 10:00 local time. rains in the same spots it's been raining for days, like ten days. raining in parts of seattle down to portland. this is light rain at best
