it happened on route 40 and 896, what is where chad pradelli joins us live. good morning chad. >> reporter: hey matt, the accident scene obviously has been cleared. this accident happened at 2:00 a.m. and i just got off the phone with one of two good samaritans that helped to rescue the child. she pulled up here and saw the accidents, the car, i should say pickup truck was engulfed in flames. the 6-year-old boy was trapped in the backseat. he had some sort of seatbelt on and couldn't get out. that is when one of good samaritans grabbed the fire extinguisher in the tractor trailer involved in the crash and used it to the smash the window and still the child was stuck that is when a delaware state trooper pulled up to the scene and he began to try to get the child out and the pickup truck was engulfed in flames and i am told that the child was literally in flames on his back. he is now at dupont hospital. the others were taken to local hospitals and i am told that all are in stable condition. the male and female in the pickup truck are since released. we don't k

chad pradelli is following this story for us. he is live outside of atlantic care regional medical care center where some victims are being treated. >> reporter: alicia, state police have not released the extent of the injuries only that everyone is in stable condition. detectives have a lot of work to do and they are looking for one vehicle and maybe others involved in this shooting. it was a shootout down the atlantic city expressway. when the bullets stopped flying four people were injured in this white ford expedition that they found in egg harbor township. k-9s found four weapons and handguns and an ak-47 weapon. and they found the nissan maxima pulled over and the passenger was dead of a gunshot wound, the driver, anthony hicks was not injured. state police say that far five people are charged with weapons offenses. police say that a black dodge ram pickup may also be involved. detectives are looking for the vehicle and its occupants, it was last seen getting off the expressway in the area. there will be other charges inclu
