i wanted to thank everyone for their work on this and thank you chair yee for chairing a very long rules committee. >> i'm getting used to it. you know when i was asked to sign as a cosponsor, never did i think that this particular initiative was the answer to every problem that we have on housing. i always felt like this was part of a solution. it was a part of statement, a value that we want to, i want to support to say that we need more affordable housing and that also there has been speakers that have come up and noted that we need funding. was it mr. valentino. that we really need to get behind on measure in the future to help pay for some of the cost that supervisor breed is talking about. it's one of these issues where you put out a remark for a statement and there is push pack to say well, if you do that, it's going to have an effect and the effect is we are not going to build anymore in san francisco. it's one of these things of where is the scientific proof of that. in san francisco, in my life, because of the value of what you get for new building if these condos being sold in

chair yee, supervisors campos and tang, thank you very much for hearing this motion for my appointment to the mta. i am so proud for the opportunity to have served these past six years as a planning commissioner for the city and county of san francisco. those of you who have worked with me know i'm very passionate about land use issues and the things that matter in terms of creating a strong community. to me, the transit agency is the most vital part of the overall network that we are look at. the connection between land use and transportation is often lost and every week for the last six years we have talked and pondered neighborhood plans and community plans and developments, based upon our transportation infrastructure and our plans for the future. i feel it's my opportunity, if i were appointed to this commission, to make that connection and make sure that those things happen. we all think that we have a great transit system, but we know it's not the best transit system and i think we have a huge opportunity with the transit effectiveness project right before us. it shouldn't be, i

and to chair yee, i'd like to add before i have to leave and allow one of my colleagues to come in that i'm very support i have of this meesh sure. our children and families need places to play. i represent the richmond district and know on the west side of town there are not enough play fields and then when they're rained upon and there's not enough maintenance staff that children and families and other sport ss athletes and others don't have access, i think the renovations for the beach shall lay fields and others are needed. i think we need to increase play time and get kids and family off of concrete areas where many of them are playing and on to more play fields throughout or city. i think as the synthetic task force has looked at issue, but the best technologies that protect for public health and environmental points of view and i believe as these fields are developed will use new technologies that can allow more play time, but also be safe for everyone so i'm very supportive and i'd like to thank the mayor and other colleagues for putting this on the ballot as well. thank you. >>
