one of them was in a small town named homer just southeast of champaign. the twister was on the ground for 17 minutes leveling at least , one farm. no injuries have been reported. murder conviction. the state is appealing the recent decision that overturned brendan dassey conviction in the murder of teresa halbach. this is the case at the center of the hit docu-series making a murderer. last month, a federal judge ruled that dassey's confession was coerced. in that confession, he admitted to helping his uncle, steven avery, sexually assault and kill halbach. dassey was ordered released from prison within 90 days unless the state filed today's appeal. there's no date set for the next court proceeding. in a statement, attorney general brad schimel said, "we believe the magistrate judge's decision that brendan dassey's confession was coerced by investigators is wrong on the facts and wrong on the law." wisn 12 news spoke with dassey's attorney by phone. bob dvorak tells us he's disappointed, but not surprised. he said, "judge duffin wrote a thoughtful opinion
