i know chardon. my brother lives in chardon. i grew up in that area.r with the geography there. give us a sense of what you know of what happened this morning? >> this morning at chardon city high school we had a shooter enter the school. we had four victims taken. they have all been transported. three via ground. one was lifted out. we have that shooter in custody at this time. they are still in the process of putting the parents with the seniors and juniors from the high school over at maple elementary which is across the street and we are also sending the children home from the middle school and at both locations the process now is collecting evidence, getting statements and putting the parents back with children. >> i thought i saw lake county s.w.a.t. there. we've been told fbi is on the scene. tell us about the police presence there, john. >> the police presence. we didn't know what we were actually going to be getting into. highway patrol is here. fbi as well as local law enforcement. everyone in the area responded up here. every unit in the cou

my name is tim, i'm a police chief here in chardon. just to give you an overall view of what happened. 7:38 this morning we got reports of multiple gun shots fired at the high school. our units respondsed. state patrol a lot of other agencies -- i'll mention them at a later time. tremendous arrival time. we got there, we were given notification by the dispatcher that one of the teachers happened to chase the shooting suspect out of the building. immediately, at that point, our officers entered the building went to the five injured students that were injured, and got ems in there right behind the door behind them. we had to make sure the building was safe for the responders to go in the door. we started to search the areas and shortly thereafter we came up with the suspect. is he in custody. no name will be released because he has not been charged yet. he is a juvenile. the sad news is that i know from my people being downtown, we have 1 deceased student right now. five injured, recently got called that the one student has passed away.

now josh joins us in chardon with the latest on the second victim.sh what do you have this morning. >> reporter: yeah, hi. good morning to you. this news just getting confirmed for us from the cuyahoga county coroner's office a second victim 17-year- old russell king junior dead from a gunshot wound in addition to 16-year-old daniel parmertor. two students dead yesterday after this shooting total of 3 now remain injured after yesterday. certainly 7:30 yesterday morning as you were talking about just after this police say the alleged student gunman identified as t.j. lane shot five classmates with a handgun and we are told that two teachers chased him out of the building before police caught up with him. he was taken into custody and in fact we learned this morning that he is in a detention facility and will later go before a judge this afternoonp but it was scene of fear and chaos as the school was put on lockdown. unanswered questions here as people waited for information yesterday. certainly, several different vigils were head last night here in ch
