charles: rebecca, good stuff, well-thought out. >> thank you, charles.s morning in his research report, data insights, high frequency post-u.s. recovery monitor which is, by the way, a fantastic read all the time. new jobeless claims at a low, right, 62 week low, bank credit growth is happening. we've beaten inflation without even a soft landing but, but, now comes the deflation. joining me now trend macro chief investment officer don luskin. don, you're saying we licked inflation, even as pundits are saying there is going to be another spike right around the corner? >> i sure like to know why they're saying that. inflation has come down from 9% to 3%. half of the consumer basket, the goods half is in outright deflation. the other part, the services part, is the part that always lags. so you just wait six months and it will be deflation too. now these same pundits by the way, who are worried about resurgence in inflation these people have been wrong, wrong, did i mention wrong? for the last year-and-a-half saying we're going to have a recession tomorrow

charles?i, don't forget me. >> reporter: well no, like you have done every year before. charles: thanks so much i want to bring in monetary macro cio joseph wang. joseph, a headline in "the ft" might say it all, the oecd wants central banks to remain hawkish. that is interesting. large entives wasn't the fed and ecb to remain hawkish. everyone else is like give us a break. where do you come down on this. >> hi, charles, thanks for inviting me. what the oecd is worried about there will be a replay of the 1970s. what they're looking at, remember the oecd is looking at many countries not just the u.s., what they're looking at they see countries are having slower growth and more political pressure to cut rates. they are afraid the central banks will cave, cut rates and another basic decade of high inflation. if you look at other countries for example, poland, the central bank cut rates 75 basis points ahead of a main election. was it mission accomplished. inflation is 10%. 10% is not their target.

i got to say this, charles. when you look at those essentials, grocery prices, rents, mortgages, utility bills, those are running way ahead of 3.5%. that's why people get so angry when people like you and i say there's only 3.5% inflation. a lot of people feel like the inflation they're feeling themselves is closer to 10%. >> charles: without a doubt. the federal reserve likes to look at core inflation, which came in last week. a little bit higher. 4.2%, that means the federal reserve will keep the pedal to the metal, right? >> yeah, look, let's look at what has happened to mortgage rates. so as you know, when trump left office, we were at 2.9%. now 7.1%, the national average. so we were looking at these calculations in terms of what that means for buying a new home. the median home is a little less than 1/2 a million dollars now. let's use $500,000 as our example. you're going to have to pay over a third of your mortgage just because of those higher interest rates somewhere between 250 and $300,000 more because

charles?es: chad, thanks very much to pennsylvania where police released video of danilo cavalcante's escape from prison. nate foy has the details. nate? >> hi, charles. yeah, we got a few things out of the most recent press conference. first, we learned that state police have extended the portion of their search area for danilo cavalcante after his scape from prison thursday morning. there's so many questions about how he did that. today the acting prison ward explained -- we got new video showing how he did it. take a look at this video from chester county prison. cavalcante crab walked between two prison buildings. you can't see it here be, he pushes his way through razor wear, scale as fence and scales through more razor wear and escapes, this is nearly identical to how another inmate escaped in may. that inmate was caught hours later. cavalcante obvious nearly a week later is still out there. at least authorities believe they know where he's going. listen to this. >> i do have some ideas
