they'll be doing some work on the new oakland airport connector kron 4's charles clifford shows us what it will mean for drivers. >> reporter: starting saturday morning, bart will begin installing new railways over instate 880...here... just west of hegenberger road. this is part of the ongoing work to complete the new oakland airport connector. in order to finish the work, crews will first need to shutdown the two lefthand lanes of north bound 880 starting at 11am on saturday morning. that closure will last all day on saturday. then from 1am until 6am on sunday morning, caltrans will completely shutdown all northbound lanes of 880 at hegenberger road. the southbound lanes will remain open. cars travelling north can detour around the closure by first exiting 880 at hegenberger road. then they will have to turn left onto edes avenue, cross over hegenberger and continue along coliseum way. they will then drive past oracle arena and the coliseum before merging back onto northbound 880 just past 66th avenue. now this weekend's closures, will be repeated the following weekend, march 23rd and

kron 4's charles clifford has details. >> reporter: bethel island sits in the sacramento-san joaquin river delta.. here.. just to the northeast of antioch. around 2:15am wednesday morning, a fire broke out in 1400 block of taylor road, which runs along the island's southern edge. this is the one story home where the fire started. no one was there at the time and we understand that the blaze may have been triggered by some sort of electrical problem. now after the fires started, the flames spread to this two story building to the west. two residents were evacuated from this home, one person had minor injuries.. and the building was seriously damaged. also flames caused minor damage to this two story home on the other side of where the fire started. now this is video we took early this morning, on the left here is what's left of the home where the fire started. it's been complelety destroyed. to the right is the two story home that was heavily damaged. we also understand that at some point powerlines may have fallen onto this home forcing firefighters to fight the blaze from a distance
