kron 4's charles clifford has details. according to the mountain view police department, thieves using a stolen truck from cupertino, broke into the lobby of michaels restaurant here at shoreline park and stole and atm.investigators believe the thieves smashed the front windows of the restaurant with the truck and then removed the atm, which was bolted to the ground. the break in most likely happened late monday evening or early tuesday morning. police found the atm discarded along nearby charleston road. the money had been removed and the atm was burning.sotkatie nelson says these individuals set this atm on fire. i don't know what they were doing in terms of trying to get it open, or possibly remove fingerprints, but they did significant damage to the machine.police also found the stolen truck about a < mile away from the restaurant.sotkatie nelson says the truck that was used in this incident was stolen out of cupertino. i don't know exactly when it was taken but it couldn't have been long ago.michaels restaura
