dawndy, charles-- earlier today officials identified that suspect as 42 year old damon jones, wanted out of houston, this afternoon we're learning more about his arrest record, which dates back to 1990. the first alleged violent crimes date back to 1995, when he was arrested for assault with bodily injury. in 2002, he was charged with weapon, and theft in 2013. all of these charges were dismissed. in september 2014, he was accused of assaulting a family member, and in october of 2014, he was accused of murdering his girlfriend. officials still aren't sure how he wound up in columbia, but members of the u.s. marshals office caught wind that james was in columbia--and sent the task force out to byron road apartments to arrest him for the 2014 murder.
