lin in the east bay. fire crews are battling the flynn fire. it's park last night along 5.80, in alameda county kron four's. charles clifford joins us live from livermore with the latest out there. >> well, good afternoon. right now, i'm standing along 5.80, in the altamont pass. this is very close to the wind turbines. if you're familiar with the area you see over my shoulder here, that is the charred hillside where this fire was burning at last check. cal fire says this blaze. the flynn fire has burned about 500 acres is currently 70% contained. they say they've stopped forward progress, but crews are still on scene here. let's go and take a look at some video from last night. now, this fire started along the westbound lanes of 5.80, around 9.45. last night motors had called 9-1-1 report that their car was on fire. the flames from that fire apparently spread to the nearby hillside. the fire pushed by steady winds move quickly through the dry grass. 5.80, was shut down for several hours overnight as was altamonte pass a road a little further to the north. crews spent the night trying to contain the fire. a good ne

lin across california today. hundreds of dialysis workers are rallying to demand improvements to safety, working conditions and dozens of kidney dialysis centers. kron four's charles clifford joins us live now from one location in san jose. charles. >> well, good afternoon. yeah. the workers at this satellite, healthcare or dialysis clinic here in south san jose say the clinic is understaffed and that they are underpaid. and today they're rallying outside the building. demanding changes. it's going to take a look at some video here from a little earlier today. now organizers say they are rallying wednesday at 26 sites across california, including outside the offices of fresno's kidney care, satellite, healthcare and u.s. renal. now these are union workers with seiu uhw which represents about 700 people. they are currently in contract negotiations with the health care providers, but they that they're nowhere reaching a deal. they also say that these clinics are understaffed and that there are unsafe working conditions and low wages. they also say the trouble began about 2 years ago when they unionized. >> we are severely short staffed and instead of trying to hire

i'm stephanie lin crews still mopping up hot spots after a massive fire sparked near the aquatic park in berkeley near 7th street and hines avenue kron four's. charlese there for us with the latest. charles. >> well, good fire crews are still here on scene working on putting out any hot spots. the good news is that it appears that nobody was injured by this fire. unfortunately, one man who's been living in his van as lost his home. all right. this fire started about 2.40, this morning. and crews responding quickly escalated this to 3 they brought in help from oakland. they couldn't get inside the building so they resorted to a defensive posture, try to keep the fire from spreading to nearby buildings. there was one man living in a van who have heard the fires. dogs will come up and he had make a run for it. unfortunately, his van was also destroyed. now, buy sun up. they were able to get this fire under control. the been here throughout the morning, kind of working on putting out those hot spots. a pg e is also here on scene about 50 customers lost power because the fire damaged a nearby power so they're still working on getting power restored. they
