but first charles watson, live in nashville. charles.orter: jon, fbi confirming that it is looking into a number of possible suspects in connection with to the rv explosion here in downtown nashville. short while ago, fbi special agent in charge doug confirm reports of police activity at a home in tennessee. that is is reportedly tied to a person of interest. right now, federal authorities say they are not prepared to name any individual it is they're looking at as possible suspects. >> we have over 500 investigative leads follow-upping up on every one of those so at this point we're not prepared to any identify any sie individual. reporter: as for the site of that rv explosion in downtown nashville, authorities say it is a complex in expansive scene but they're confident they'll get to the bottom of it. police say the bomb squad is on the scene. and there's currently no reason to believe any additional explosive devices or positions in the city this, of course, following a massive rv explosion around 6:30 christmas morning. that authori

charles watson is live in atlanta with more on all of this. : well, molly, georgia voters seem to know -- and so far voter turnout is in line with what we saw during the presidential election back in november. state officials say on average about 200,000 people a day have gone out and voted early since monday x there could be an influx of young voters this time around. according to an updated registration list obtained by the "atlanta journal-constitution", nearly 76,000 new voters have registered to cast their ballot in the january 5th senate runoff elections. the ajc reports these voters are overwhelmingly young with 56 president of them under 35 years old. and because young voters tend to loon blue, that could lead to a boost for jon ossoff and raphael warnock who got a big assist from the president-elect earlier this week. >> i need two senators in this state. i want to get something done. not two senators who are just going to get in the way. because, look, getting nothing done just hurts georgia. >> reporter: meanwhile, republicans are ho

let's go right away to charles watson he is in nashville with the very latest. charles. reporter: david, this is still an active investigation right now police are searching for a motive and suspect in connection to the rv that blew up in the center of downtown nashville yesterday. law enforcement say that explosion was set off intentionally around 6:30 a.m. local time and surveillance video, you can hear a voice telling people to evacuate the area, and then moments later , you see a big burst of flames as the rv explodes into a ball of fire. law enforcement say they are testing what appears to be human tissue found at the blast site. >> i thought maybe it was going to be a propane explosion from an rv, and it turned out to be an intentional act. we have found tissue that we believe could be remains. reporter: metro nashville police say these six officers are heros they were or the scene at the time of the explosion. the blast knocking one officer off their feet and causing what police is hoping temporary hear ing loss and another additionally the blast shattered windows

charles watson is live in atlanta with more on this one. charles, what can you tell us?republican senators david perdue and kelly loeffler had sought to have the ballots of newly-registered voters in georgia segregated to insure those votes were lawful. the senators' campaigns had argued in federal court that it would be against federal law for local elections offices to count what they call double votes meaning ballots that are cast in the senate runoff elections by people who lived and voted in another state during the november general election. in lynn county only 8 out of 176 newly-registered voters there had voted in another state during the general election. the senators' campaigns unsuccessfully argued that number could rise astronomically around the state specifically with thousands of new and overwhelmingly young registered voters who are likely to lean towards democrats jon ossoff and avenue ideal warnock. in a statement released friday, the georgia democratic party said, quote, this is a baseless, despicable attempt to wrongfully disenfranchise hundreds of tho

charles watson has more now from nashville on the suspect and a search for a motive. >> reporter: the authorities on sunday saying they believe 63-year-old anthony quinn warner blew himself up in the christmas day explosion that rocked downtown nashville. human tissue was found among the debris left behind. the investigators linking him to the blast of dna and others on sunday. warner was under investigation according to public record he had experience with electrics and alarms and had worked as a computer consultant for a realtor. federal officials say warner appears to have acted alone in the bombing that damaged more than 40 buildings and injured at least three people. >> we are still following leads, right now, there is no indication that any other persons were involved. we reviewed hours of security video. surrounding the recreational vehicle as well as we saw no other people involved around that vehicle. >> reporter: the tennessee highway patrol was able to recover parts from the exploded rv and matched them to a vehicle identification number registered to warner. this just one

as charles watson reports, several police officers on patrol being hailed as heros for evacuating residentsments before that blast. reporter: new video shows the accomplish impact of an rv explosion on christmas in nashville. investigators say 63-year-old anthony warner blew up his rv. police say the vehicle was playing an announcement that a bomb will go off. six nashville police officers are being called heros for going door-to-door, telling people to get out of harm's way. >> i literally hear god tell me to turn around. as i turned around, for me, it felt like i only took three steps and then the music stopped, and as i'm walking back, i just see orange, and then i hare a loud boom. >> reporter: investigators were able to name warner as a suspect by using a vehicles identification numbers found at the blast location. that led them to antioch, a suburb of nashville. from there, they were able to match dna from human remains at the explosion site. >> a match of the dna at both locations, belonging to the person of interest in this case. >> reporter: the blast damaged more than 40 buildings

charles watson has the details on this. >> federal investigators say 21 individuals arrested and charged with this case brazenly operated out of fraternities on those campuses over the next three years and investigation individuals thousands of pounds of illegal drugs to students and around fraternities that you wouldn't see, do, and appalachian state university, since at least 2017 from a law enforcement says members of the fraternity is allegedly traffic more than $1.5 million worth of marijuana, cocaine, xanax, lsd, and even steroids. authorities say it is connected to a mexican cartel which shipped the drugs using the u.s. postal servialce service. the suspect was allegedly laundering the money they back to the suppliers through the mail and encrypted apps like benbow. >> at some point, they're disturbing so much drugs that they made connections and were dealing with a mexican cartel directly and it was getting shipped to them from l.a. into the north carolina area. some of these kids are making a $65,000 a year off this. >> all the universities involved in this case say they are ful
