near charlestown, getting heavy rain with gusty winds.ere, along the blue ridge, east of winchester, warren, clark counties, the higher elevations getting heavy downpours there. there's another line. light or moderate rain in forecast, southern loudoun, moving to montgomery county. it picks up in intensity. the area of orange here south of warrenton in fauquier county and the line into culpeper county. it's producing heavy rain, these may also be producing wind gusts to around had 0 to 50 miles per hour, and -- 40 to 50 miles per hour, and thunder and lightning. farther east, we're getting lighter rains in prince george's county and in the district of columbia. the heavier rain should be moving in there, too, later this morning. look at the contrast in temperatures. frederick at 39. fredericksburg, 64 degrees. around 60 around the metro area. we'll stay there through the morning hours with the passing showers. and then windy, drying out this afternoon, guft winds to 35 -- gusty winds to 35 miles per hour out of the north and west, bringin

now into the panhandle of west virginia, from near martinsburg, charlestown, that area, lights freezingrain. farther south and west, light rain coming toward warrenton and fauquier county and rappahannock county. that's coming into colder air. there may be a little light freezing rain here over the next hour or so. in addition to the fog. right now, in montgomery county, it is still a little below freezing in the upper 20s as also is fairfax county and prince george's county. right now just near 30 degrees in all those locations. then in southern maryland, it's still near or a little below freezing away from the waters. right near the waters, it's in the mid to upper 30s. that's the bay water temperatures, only in the upper 30s now. and as we look at what's been happening the last 12 hours, a general westerly flow in the atmosphere bringing in those rain showers and the clouds. and they'll be with us throughout the day. the showers may get heavier this afternoon as we climb to into the upper 40s to near 50. there will be a lot of melting of the snow and ice that we had over the weekend.
