thanks so much for joining us and good morning, maryland, i'm charley kraussen. let's head right in for a check of your friday forecast with meteorologist lynette charles. >> hey, charley, hey, everybody. we are dealing with friday, we made it. it's not only friday, it's purple friday, here. check it out, we'll be colder as we go throughout the day. a wintery mix moves in overnight. mild temperatures are on the way again, though. this is what we have for today, we have a winter storm watch in effect through saturday afternoon basically for these areas back towards the western here into western maryland, the areas shaded here in the blue. i want to point out right here in cecil county, under a winter weather advisory. this goes into effect around midnight into tomorrow morning, around 10:00. so, again, the roads will be a little bit dicey because of the fact we will get some icing out there. those details are coming up. let me send it over to angela. she has your traffic. purple friday. reporter: good morning, lynette. a purple friday it is. good morning, everyone.

good morning, maryland, i'm charley kraussen. let's head right over to meteorologist justin burk now for a check of the warming forecast. it feels more like april instead of january. >> something like that, and something is wrong and something's gotta give. hang on. hang on. a few more of the weather geeks are starting to come online and talking about the changing weather pattern. we're just a week or two away from starting to generate real winter. we'll call it winter 2.0 around here. it's going to happen. we got ourselves some clouds this morning, little disturbance east of the mountains. it'll shift the wind helping this thing to flare up. that's a setup for the view of the sky. temperatures up to 29 right now, 36 out towards ocean city, richmond and norfolk. temperatures in the 40s on the other side of the mountains from pittsburgh to charleston. a sign of what we really do expect. a big surge despite the flareup of clouds, we should break some sun a little bit. we'll at least mix it in today and we'll work our way up to 56 d
