charlie joins us by phone. you are treating last week. what else did he say, charlie? charlie: he says the market is in a dangerous position. as you were watching fox business over the past week or so, we said he was a guy to watch, move the market, be very cognizant at this point because the market is in a funky position. you paul 10 people, you can get 10 different answers. david has been around for a long time, even analysts say he understands the company, he understands the economy and made a lot of money. this guy kind of gets it. he was the marquee name. it would have been nice to have him earlier. in a dangerous position in the market. this is the one thing we talk about the fed and easing and the notion they keep on printing money, we talk about inflation. one of the things here is the potential for inflation is money printing. one of the things people are talking about is deflation. there is a real worry. melissa: what is he doing? charlie: what he is worried about is the gdp number getting worse, corporate earnings getting worse and you can print money all yo

charlie, you have been all over this story.arlie: i think if you're an investor, listen to jack because he knows the law, he knows the intent of the law and he has a good insight into the game plan. it will be charged criminally in this new regulatory regime proposed by eric holder that nobody is too big to jail. >> it could happen, but it hasn't happened yet and it isn't about to happen. this is the test case, the vehicle that the federal government probably most wants. a foreign bank because credit ct swift is a perfect test case for three reasons. one, there probably won't be any run on the bank because all its depositors are in switzerland and they're not that concerned about what happens in the united states. two, they will not be any title wave of civil litigation. if this were an antitrust or security case, there might be multibillion-dollar class actions filed with no clear result. u.s. citizens committing tax fraud. charles: this is a tax evasion case going back many years. >> those people have unclean hands, they cann

charlie: i can.know, and this is a pretty interesting advance on this investigation, eric snyderman is essentially one of the first regulators, the attorney general. he is after high-frequency trading and looking at changing the practice of it. we have understanding that the investigation is heating up and up where people inside the office and people most of this investigation are telling the fox business network they are eyeing possible enforcement action as early as this summer. that the put a quick turnaround. liz: was the charge? charlie: it will be a fraud charge, but let me clean. they are looking at the combination of high-frequency trading firms, how they work through those private marketplaces and whether they have private arrangements in those pools to give certain high-frequency trading firms an unfair advantage over others. that is what they're looking at. i can't tell you if it's a criminal charge, it will probably be a civil charge. they don't know yet. they don't know if these firms wi

new jersey had made the decision to invest a ton of money with charlie baker's firm, right after charlieker gave a big donation to new jersey republican party. now, this has become a political issue for charlie baker as he runs for governor in massachusetts, he is having a hard time of it anyway. boston globe has been all over this story since it broke, charlie baker has been answering questions about it daily. it seems to be dogging him at this early point in his campaign. in new jersey, though, the real problem is that new jersey has a very clear, short strict easy to understand law that says your firm cannot get investments of new jersey pension money if you are giving political donations to people and parties in new jersey. charlie baker's defense so far is that he doesn't have anything to do with that firm, doesn't work for that investment firm in a way that should trigger the new jersey law. here is how charlie baker listed himself when he made the donation, listed himself as partner in the firm. if you're a partner in the firm, the law in new jersey is clear, you cannot give a don
