governor scott, who had four submit resignations in scandals, is currently trailing charlie crist by of the state address tomorrow. so that takes care of tuesday. he's got wednesday and thursday to announce that he is canceling the florida trip. when this week do you expect him to announce the cancellation of that trip? >> i would think he would have canceled it already, lawrence. it's a very easy excuse, obviously, to say he has business to tend to in the garden state, that he's got to get on top of this situation, that he owes that to the taxpayers of the state of new jersey to continue to work with the legislative branch as that investigation continues. but he'll be dealing with this for some time, and it certainly neuters his ability to be out there effectively on the campaign trail. i think it's a mistake for him to go to florida. >> yeah, at this point it is. governor rick scott is going to be out there saturday with a guy who's muddled in scandal and all the questions are going to be about a scandal in new jersey. i can't imagine that thing not getting canceled between now and

scott pelley joins us. good morning. >> good morning. great to be with you. >> why should we believe charlie bosch now? >> he's told both stories, one he had nothing to do with it and now has told the story that he had everything to do with it. but bosch was a man caught in a vice. he claims that there were death threats against him. he was if fear of his life. so he decided to go to baseball, and baseball offered him a deal he couldn't refuse. they said that they would drop their lawsuit against him, they would indemnify him from any other legal proceedings in the future, and provide him with 24-hour personal security. so he decided to work with baseball, tell his story, and he says that the text messages and other documents in the case back up his story now. >> what kind of case will a-rod's lawyers try to make now in. >> well, they're ghoing to federal court. an arbitration panel decided to uphold the suspension of a-rod. they reduced the games by a small number, but it takes him out for an entire season. and so now, the a-rod defense team will go to federal court and ask the federal court to take u

scott down in florida. he is not exactly mr. popular down there. he's had some issues along the way. but what about, i mean, the problem for charlie is changing from republican to democrat. that is a tough thing to pull off, isn't it? >> i think so. he's lucky because the incumbent is very unpopular. we are in a climate where incumbents everywhere are unpopular. there are different categories of party switchers. ronald reagan was a democrat at one time. of course, he became the most important republican of the modern era. lots of new england's republicans have become democrats and lots of obviously southern democrats have become republicans. but the public moved underneath their feet and they kind of moved with the public. what charlie crist is doing, there's no move in florida. florida is polarized with a very big democratic party, competitive republican party. this is pure opportunism. it's not some historic wave he's moving along with. >> when he was a republican governor he supported the stimulus. he was not trying to become a democrat then. hillary clinton supported gay marriage until it was time -- i mean, excuse me, opposed
