"eyewitness news" reporter charlotte huffman is live with the very latest tonight, charlotte. >> reporter: jessica, a resident here in stafford township called police around 9:00 this morning reporting odor of gas and crews responded to shut off the the gas but it was an hour and a half later that the house on oak lane exploded, injuring 15 people including gas workers and sending two of them to the hospital in critical condition. debris from what used to be someone's home thrown across the street. the the home itself, completely leveled. the view from chopper three shows fire and smoke rising from the scorched area where it once stood. >> within two minutes of that the walls shook, my pictures came off lines came off the wall stuff out of the cabinets and it was just chaos from there. >> reporter: even employees at a dentist office a third mile away heard and felt the blast. >> all of a sudden that door opened and then it shut and then there was a big bang. >> reporter: chief jack johnson was a first responder on the scene and trying to locate the source of the leak when the explosion ha

charlotte huffman is back on the scene tonight with that new information, charlotte. >> reporter: chris, the the street reopened earlier today, this is a residential street and when it did take a look this is what we saw it is total destruction and it looks more like a tornado ripped through here. >> reporter: evacuated residents returned home to see the destruction for the first time. debris, hanging in trees, mattresses and children's toys thrown about. and for some they found their homes, completely unlivable and left with a few momentoes in hand. >> the bathroom is totally desteroid. the the toilet is in two pieces. the the bedroom is completely wrecked. doors are blown off. there is glass all over the house. it looks like a tornado hit. >> reporter: how did it happen? officials say that the distribution of about 30 feet below ground on oak avenue crest a 2-inch main. the gas then followed the path of least resist tense in the basement where it ignited from an open flame in the basement a's utility room. the result a fireball explosion that blew the house to pieces, as seen from a p

this is a growing problem and tonight i-team reporter charlotte huffman shows us the numbers and confrontshe predators. >> reporter: bridget was living a double life. she was married with children but the mew suck teacher at lenape middle school in doylestown bucks county also had a sexual affair with her of her 14-year-old students. >> what were you thinking? >> she plead guilty and she isn't the only teacher making headlines. there's jessica in reading and sarah o'neal in exton. both plead guilty for having sex with students. most recently mark in coatesville arrested and charged with doing the same. it's a serious crime that's happening more and more. the i team dug through state records of all pennsylvania educators who have lost their teaching certificates because of sexual related incidents. we found one troubling case after another. a teacher caught having sex with a child on the schoolbus. another on school property. in all over the past 10 years the number of educators accuseed or convicted of having sex with students has increaseed 81%. in 2014, a third of them were women. >> vir
