so, johnson's new command and he takes his headquarters and chattanooga. in the winter of 1862, 63, he's gonna be coordinating the efforts of those two armies. and all the other military units. in this vast department, he's got a lot of challenges, from brexit in brag,, but seriously he's trying to coordinate these two armies which are defending union forces advancing on them. in tennessee, in mississippi, he's got a very rickety railroad network that isn't well connected. unlike in virginia, the railroads and alabama, mississippi, georgia, the lines aren't well maintained, not in good shape. they don't connect where you'd ideally want them to connect so supply routes and reinforcements need to go to various and efficient ways. we've got supply depots spread out from atlanta, georgia, alabama. it's a huge territory. it's a lot to cover a lot from one person corny. the army of tennessee has fought at the storm river. it was the winter 1862 1863. you probably know that there starts to be a really poisonous atmosphere in the command of the army of tennessee.
