supervisor cindy chavez says and deputy county executive will unveil the full plan here at the county building at 9:00 ahead of the 10:00 supervisors meeting. i was digging through the agenda, can't find the item they were talking about but here's the back story. the justice department wants to include that citizenship question to enforce minority protections under the voting rights act. now, the 1950 census was the last one that had that citizenship question already california attorney general sued the federal government saying that california could be under counted which could shift federal funding and congressional seats out of the golden state. also the census bureau is already looking into how it can fill in the missing data if people choose not to answer the citizenship question using other government records. supervisor chavez says adding immigration question could severely impact not only california but santa clara county in particular because there is a large population of undocumented immigrants. that announcement is happening here on the plaza at 9:00 this morning. and we'l
