you love this whole began with vice president cheney van saying something that is absolutely factually correct. that most americans don't know. we've reported on a lot, but most americans don't know it. and those are the conscription soldiers who are going through ukraine picking up man who in the past wouldn't have even been involved in a more in grabbing any man. they can off the streets, whether he's young or old, doesn't matter if he can. he's a is a warm body to grab him off the streets to put him in the bands and they're sending him to the front. like, that's how this conversation started between wanston zalinski. that is the reality of this war. it is an unwinnable war for ukraine. and so is the less, he doesn't have much choice, so he'll probably do is after he whites us tiers and gets himself composed a little bit. he'll probably reach out to some leaders in the you and i suspect that those conversations are not going to go his way either the i think there was a very strong set of preparations made with the u. k. just yesterday. and i think that you guys gonna say not much we

. >> laura: now, kinzinger, cheney, vindman, the whole crowd, their hero, the man who suspended electionscountry, who basically did away with free expression who banned thousands of orthodox churches, came to town with an impew tent hectoring approach, expecting, i guess, to be treated like he was at harvard's kennedy school or maybe at the oscars. >> with this gentleman on my right and we look forward to keeping that going for a long period of time. thank you very much. thank you. >> thank you, mr. president. thank you. >> thank you very much. >> thank you. >> thank you, mr. president. >> laura: they were gracious. they weren't morons. but, any leader, especially leader who has received, what, about 250 billion? who is counting in aid and arms and humanitarian aid from the united states? enters the white house and then disrespects the respect, well, you can bet that the 77 million americans who voted for donald trump will not support any further engagement. zelenskyy was like an annoying gnat. he never shut up in camouflage. but, by about dinnertime on the east coast, volodymyr zelenskyy

so i now want you to compare that contrast that to what we saw or what we heard today from liz cheney, obviously a fellow republican. but it, again, is her very last sentence here in which she basically says that what we're seeing is an american president abandoning what we have stood for, what the country has stood for. what do you make of those two responses? >> well, it's a debate that's been growing, and indeed, we've had this kind of debate going back for more than a century in terms of what should america's role be in the world. and again, there is a legitimate debate about how much of our resources should be placed in terms of defending american values, defending american interests, defending, you know, those that are under attack from authoritarian forces versus the resources we need to use here at home. but i think the concern here is that that that trump is not just talking about, you know, putting america first, putting america's priorities, but seems to be siding with an authoritarian leader against democracy, an authoritarian leader that clearly has expansionist ambitions
